Wanna be owner

I have just figured out how to introduce myself so I hope this works
Like many women around I would love to be the owner of a TMX the only problem I have like other women also....is convincing my husband that I will use it. He was at the demo but still not convinced that I will get the use out of one. Any ideas on how to woo him??

hmm I don't know - usually would say get him to a demo!!
There are heaps of us here that have had their TMX for a while, I have had mine for 3 years and use it all day every day. There are others that have just joined that have had one for 25 years and still use it all the time!!
What are your main drivers for owning one as that may help us give you some ideas.
Mine were all 3 of the the main selling points really. Time saving, saving money and eliminating additives etc.
Let us know and we will all do out bit with suggestions

Hi
As faffa said, it would be good to know your main reasons for wanting one.
I had a very tough time convincing my husband. I hated cooking. Dreaded it in fact, but the reality was I had to cook - for him and our 2 children & I wanted to feed them healthy, good, wholesome food.
He still couldn't understand why I'd want a kitchen appliance when I hated being in the kitchen and certainly a lot of $$ to spend on something that I'd get sick of.. But I persevered & did a lot of research and I think he eventually just gave in
(I'm not a spender by nature. I don't like shopping & don't spend a lot of money on clothes or accessories or anything & he's the first to admit that, so I think he just realised that this was something I was serious about). He hasn't regretted it!!
Do your research. Try to target your husband's interests / concerns... ie - energy efficiency / electricity $$..
Good luck!

Thanks faffa and Karen for listening to my plea.....I loooove cooking, using fresh ingredients, having dinner parties, spending time in the kitchen, hate additives and preservatives so I never buy cakes & biscuits for my children I would rather make them.
I have been looking through this forum for a few weeks now deciding whether to join or not (as I am not yet an owner so don't having anything to contribute) but here I am and I must say this forum is fantastic for recipes and ideas....well done

Dreamer I so hear you!!!
In fact there is a thread I started all about this topic and was given some great advice from some of the members here but at the end of the day he is the one who has to agree with the decision otherwise he will not embrace the TMX, trust me I know
I planted the seed and had to let the seem germinate and it did help that a friend of ours also told him how amazing it was and then I left the topic alone for a few weeks and then waited for the time to be right before mentioning it again. When I did, waiting with baited breath, he said yes
I can give you a little tip that I used, show him how much second hand ones sell on ebay (still around 1700 - 1800) and say look if I don't use it and you think we have wasted our money then we can always resell it and get most of our money back!
Best of luck and hopefully you will get one real soon, do you have TMX cooking classes in your area? I found that they are a bit more 'convincing' for some people as there are a lot of different things made there but also many TMX owners who readily 'gush' about their TMX and how it has been the best purchase.............

Welcome Dreamer. I hope you are able to convince your DH. I was fortunate as my Dh had to convince me. I loved baking etc before I got mine but now you can't stop me.

Hi Dreamer, hopefully some of the postings will help you - it can be a problem for some. Perhaps let him read some of the things that are said about the TMX on here and show him how we are all crazily in love with our machines. He will rarely find a negative comment. Either that or give us his telephone number and we can all give him a ring to convince him

That's great news Dreamer - what a great husband you have and what a shock you must have received considering his lukewarm reaction at the demo you attended. He must have been planning this at that demo, bless his little cotton socks. Enjoy yourself and let us know what you cook won't you?
