Yummy! Will try halving the sauce like Kulsha suggested next time. Found there was a bit too much, but its definitely a keeper

I just made this tonight using skinned thigh bits with no bones in it. All the kids loved it. I think I 'heaped' my tablespoons of corn flour a little too much so I added a little extra water at the end and cooked it for another few minutes - so that is the only changed I'd make.
My fussy 4 year old even gobbled it up! Thanks for the recipe, will now be on our fortnightly menu I think!
cheers Jo and Co

I was thinking of cooking the sauce from this recipe to reduce it slightly and then once cooled using it as a marinade for chicken thighs to be cooked tomorrow on the BBQ. Has anyone tried using the recipe as a marinade? Do others think this would work?

Wonder I can't see why it wouldn't work. I would perhaps leave the cornflour out though. I have never added cornflour to any of my marinades as I prefer it runny to really be able to soak into the meat.

Sorry I should have added I won't be inlcuding the cornflour. I thought if I cooked and reduced slightly it might give a better marinade.

A couple of people suggested earlier that this is what they were going to do Wonder, it would have to work so give it a go and post some feedback please.

... or perhaps rather than reducing by cooking it down, reduce the quantity in recipe and add a dash more soy sauce? ... I think it would make a lovely marinade, I love the sauce in this dish. Its one of our regulars.

Made this last week, was an absolute hit we had it with rice noodles(well DH did), and for the rest of us I used some left over 2 min noodles in the cupboard. Yes there was a fair amount of sauce, but that just made our children scrap the plates to finish it off.

This tasted lovely as a marinade on grilled chicken. We had the chicked with salad and potato bake but it would be lovely with the marinade cooked to pour over rice.

Thanks Rainbow, we all enjoyed this quick & super easy recipe!
I used 500g of chicken with half the water, soy & honey.
Honey & Soy Chicken
by Sandra Cronyn WA
800g Chicken thighs cut into bite size pieces
1cm piece of ginger
1 clove of garlic
140g Soy sauce
130ml water
160g honey
1 teaspoon paprika
30g olive oil
2 heaped tablespoons cornflour
Toasted sesame seeds to garnish
Chop ginger and garlic for 5 sec speed 7.
Add oil and saute 2 mins, 100 deg, speed 1
Add chicken and cook 2 mins, 100 deg, reverse, speed soft.
Add remaining ingredients and cook 15 mins 100deg, reverse speed soft.
Serve on rice sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds
Tweeks
I only used 400g of chicken as only 3 people eating, kept the the sauce same and there was a nice lot of sauce.
I didn't use
big
heaps tablespoons of cornflour,
I used 2 garlic cloves.

Who's DD was it that says "Yum yum fairy's bum"? I can't remember now but we all shared that sentiment and more for this recipe!
A definite keeper! My DH made it and has noted some tweaks on his paper copy (less water, less cooking time for the chicken) but we all really, really, really enjoyed this meal.

Made this today for tonight's dinner, had to have a little try, boy is my family going to love this
will have it with rice and steam vegetables. It makes a lot of sauce which the rice is going to love

This dish is awesome
I've started meal planning again and this fortnight it's all going to be done in the TM, this was the first night.
We had it with rice and steamed vegies and it's all gone
We used about 500g chicken as that's what we divide our batches into and it worked well only cause hubby wasn't eating, when we do it next we'll tweak it and use 1kg so there's leftovers for lunch.
Very impressed.
