Frozzie I made it for 4th time today and used kahlua instead of the vanilla or orange juice - OMG it was delicious!!!!!
I made the Bimby Choc as cupcakes without cocoa but used coffee and crushed oreo biscuits, then piped on frosting!!!!!

You are right Frozzie, it is such a lovely topping. It originated from the 2009 TMX calendar and ILB posted it
here
before it popped up on Stef's blog. Go ahead and put it in it's own thread if you want, it will be much easier for everyone to find it then.

I made this recipe today using a whole lemon instead of an orange - made the mixture into cupcakes and it was delicious

Have plenty of oranges from the backyard, made this last night and took it to work. Made a big moist cake. Yum.

I have currently got this cake in the oven.
My only concern is that the lowest temp on my farenheit oven is 250.
I will see how it goes - check on it as need be.
Am I right in understanding the recipe says 170 farenheit?

The ff stands for fan forced, not farenheit. You would need to bake it at a moderate temp, perhaps 350 degrees?

Oh thank you!!!!!
I feel like such a dummy
I never thought of that. I have never had a fan forced oven.
I have had it in the oven for about 50 mins on 250 oF and thought it was going to be a long process!!!!
I have now turned up the temp. so hopefully it will be ok?!?!
Thanks Chelsea.

I hope it turns out well for you. I made this once but it wasn't great (my fault). I used rapadura but it really needed the sweetness of sugar. Next time.

I have made this today using 2 small lemons. I took the pips out. I have a box of lovely cup cakes waiting for me to try and ice.

if anyone's looking forw a similar cake using more fruit mine fits the bill - though it looks like it's a lot moister and heavier than this one
