Hello Everyone..

My name is stef and i am a foodie... Not that i mind !
I love to cook and i NEED to cook a lot: i have a foodallergy and can not use any food that has additives added to it, no fermented sauces (soy and so on), no MSG !, no aroma's...   no processed food at all..

That means making all basic stuff myself: jams, ketchup, tomatopaste, spicemixes and so on.

A few weeks ago i discovered Thermomix and yes i am the proud owner of one.
I discovered this forum while looking for more information regarding making butter and knew i had to join.
So hear i am, hoping to learn a lot from you guys.

i will be publishing my first cooking book soon, all about cooking without food additives .. and i have some pics available on FB ... anyone interested, ljust add me..... stef allegaert.

Lots of love from Belgium.

Hi Stef, welcome to the forum.  The TMX is just the thing for you seeing as you have to make everything from scratch - life will become so much easier now and I look forward to you sharing some of your recipes.

Hi Stef, glad to see you here.

I have a few food allergies (one is alcohol, another chocolate) but it is my daughter and two of her children who have the most problems - with GM corn products, which seem to be added to so many foods - and in many where it seems to be of no practical use whatsoever.

She has no problem with heirloom corn products so has to look for those with the "certified organic" label.

Will be watching for your recipes.

Hi Steph,
I could do with a few allergies to limit my choices a bit. My stomach is built like a brick shipyard (as the saying goes in England) Just about anything will go through it! especially chocolate. I went to Belgium a couple of years ago.It is so easy on the Euro-Star train but unbelievably I did not buy any chocolate. I have a constant battle with trying to keep to fresh ingredients just because I feel that our food is messed about with far too much. I look forward to your interpretation.

Hey Dot,

Your reaction is funny, but to be honest..  you better wish not to have those allergies ...  limiting your choises is one thing, but the craving for the things you can not eat stays, giving to them only makes you sick ... About chocolate:  that is finished, since i can not eat anything that has soy lecitin in it either...

Bet you would love to have that allergy too? lol

Anyway: since we do not eat processed food anymore, i don't get sick (well i only eat my own food) and my man doesn't get any migrains anymore..

thats interesting Stef........we believed my daughter was intolerant to gluten or wheat (Her reaction was so severe that she ended up in hospital, very bloated , and pain) However, if we make foods from scratch, she does not have this reaction. Its not in her head as the reaction is very visible, and when I have put things in food by mistake, she has the same reaction............I wonder if it is some additive used in bread, bought cake and instant mixes? I shall look forward to your post.

it might be the use of margarine for instance that she reacts on.. just remove all unknown additives from your food. My doctor said i was not to use any canned or bottled food what so ever. Also keep an eye on sun dried tomato.. that is triggering me too
