I have just found my oldest Thermomix recipe book. It is for the 2200.
I am supposed to be having a de-clutter but here I am, unable or unwilling to relinquish anything Thermomix. it's like having a new book all over again. Now then what shall I make tomorrow? ........
Do you find yourself unable to throw out recipe books?

It is hard Dot but sometimes we just have to make more room for the new books we have bought
I certainly wouldn't get rid of my TMX books though.

I would keep the TM2200 recipe book Dot
It would be great if you could share some of the recipes with us
I found this for you to have a look at because you were asking about the specifications of the TM31 in another post.

i've got a lot of beautiful cookery books. trouble is, now I have TM I just like cooking this way - and all the better if the recipe has already been converted. I think I may keep one shelf in the kitchen (even tho I hardly even glance at them except when I am searching for a
particular
recipe) and the big storage box in the garage...well, ideally would like to sell cos most of them cost me a packet if they are hardcovers. I know I wouldn't get that good a price for them, but at least it would be something and I could at least console myself that they were
abit
of an investment
Sometimes when I look through them, the recipe looks tasty enough however the picture has dated. I used to think that I cooked quite healthily pre-TM but now I know how we used to consume lots of additives and preservatives without realising it...a can of this, a soup packet etc

I'm like you CP63. I have heaps of cookbooks and over the years I have given some to Good Sammys. I still buy the odd non TMX one but the recipes get converted if possible.

I suffer from cook book collecting syndrome as well. I have all my own cook books plus all of my mother's.
The oldest book on my shelf is "The People's Home Recipe book" by Mrs Alice Gitchell Kirk published in 1922 which is fascinating reading. Another favourite, simply entitled "Cookery book" (lost its cover so I don't know how old it is), contains advertisements one of which is an ad for electricity
All the phone numbers in it are four digit so I'm guessing it is quite old.
Can't bear to part with any of them though

My next recipe book buy is going to be the Complete South African Cookbook. My hubby was born in SA and it's his favourite cookbook that he remembers using as a child. Has some FABULOUS recipes in it too.

Tonight I am compiling my TM forum favourites cookbook - stay tuned, it will be ready by the end of the weekend at least...
It will be titled
CP63 Shortlisted Recipes
It is not my intention to offend anyone by not including their recipes, and as it is a compilation of my own favourites that I have personally trialled and would use on a regular basis, I would welcome anyone sending me a PM if they would like me to trial their recipe or another recipe they would highly recommend for inclusion to share here
If you don't understand what I am talking about, I will explain further when I have finished

Great idea CP 63. We all like different things. Although you and I seem to like the sweet stuff.
Just before we went away I compiled volume one of my TMX favourites. I'm really pleased with it and I'm well on the way to Volume 2 or will I make it II?

Feel like swearing but there is no one around to hear me cept the cat so there is no point is there? Have been working on this all today and my eyes are going blurry with all the concentration
and had just about finished hyperlinking all the recipes so was nearly at the end
- when I don't know what I did when I pressed a button somewhere
but everything just vanished off my screen never to be found
I thought I may have by some small miracle posted it
but no...gone! Might give up today, and start again tomorrow

I feel for you CP, that has happened to me at times and I know how you feel. This would have been on a much bigger scale though so a good scream might have helped even it it scared the daylights out of the cat
I know we were all hanging out for that list too. Have a stiff drink

It was a big job and I can imagine how you felt. I hope you took the advice of a stiff drink.
