Crema Bimby (with photo)
« on: June 07, 2011, 08:49:45 am »
In Italy Bimby (aka Thermomix) demonstrators make this very easy and quick cream which is called Crema Bimby. It is one of the starred titles in the main recipe book and they are the ones they prepare during demo, I don't know if every country has the same system

It is a very practical recipe to prepare when you have an urge to eat something sweet or when you have some unexpected visitors. You can have it either warm or cold

Serving for 4 People
Peel of 1/2 lemon (without the white)
100g sugar
500g whole milk
2 eggs
40g flour
25g unsweetened cocoa powder
Optional: crushed walnuts or nuts..

Put lemon peel and sugar in TM Bowl. Powderize for 20 seconds on Speed 7-8
Add milk, eggs and flour. Cook for 7 minutes at 90ºC on Speed 4
Pour half of the cream into serving bowls
Add cocoa into the remaining cream in TM Bowl and mix for 10 seconds on Speed 4
Pour cocoa cream into serving bowls as well
You can serve warm or cold
You can sprinkle with crushed nuts or walnuts

Note: You can use vanillin sugar instead of lemon peel

According to Io e il mio Bimby there is 272 kcal per portion which is lower than most of the cakes and desserts

cgonsalv -  So easy and simple and very quick - enjoyed by all.  I thought the cocoa seemed too much so stopped after 10g - it could have easily done with more, so I will do the 25 g next time.

cookie1 -  made this the other night. As I was getting the sugar out of the pantry I noticed I had a tin of pie apricots. I ended up putting the apricots in the bottom of the dishes and putting the vanilla custard and then the chocolate on top. For the chocolate I added 25g of Lindt.  I then topped it all with crushed almonds.
Thanks you farfallina it was lovely.

knittercook - Just made this as I was after a quick something that was sweet and warm, one word describes it, heavenly.

I love the sound of this farfallina.  If you used low fat milk the calories would be less too. In fact I might make it for tonight.

It looks similiar to the lemon custard. What is the consistency like? Thank you for sharing it I think my kids will love it.

Hi farfallina,
Just tried the Crema Bimby last night and it was very nice.  So easy and simple and very quick - enjoyed by all.  I thought the cocoa seemed too much so stopped after 10g - it could have easily done with more, so I will do the 25 g next time.
I also wanted you to know that I tried your recipe for the chocolate souffle (the one with the grated orange) - another yummy, quick recipe.  Unfortunately, I kept it in the oven for a bit too long and there was not much sauce in the middle - just a bit.  I have got a couple in the freezer so looking forward to baking them and getting the timing right.

I am so happy you enjoyed both cgonsalv  ;)
Both recipes are very practical
For chocolate souffle it is nice to have some in the freezer so they could be ready just a matter of 25 minutes (15min baking time + about 10min preheating the oven (depends on the oven) )
The duration of baking is important as you said. Even 2-3min would make a big difference.
I tried chocolate souffle in different ovens (both electric and gas) with same timing and it always worked
I hope next time works better for you. Let us know ok?  ;)

Thanks you for the feedback  :-*
