How's the selling going Kez? Do you have a big queue?

dont want to be a downer but have to say that personally for an extra couple of hundred dollars you can have a new thermomix with follow up and 2 year guarantee with no nik...seems kind of expensive to me but saying that I dont know what second hand machines sell for if they sell much at all ie people tend to hold onto them..

not wanting to offend so please dont take it that way and do hope you find or have found a buyer  :)  in any case good luck!

Normally, second hand electronic goods sell for around half market value. You can take it to almost 2/3 for a very good machine such as a Kitchen Aid or, I guess a Thermomix.

I would pay up to $1100 for a second hand TMX, but that's just my opinion.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

When I bought Mums TM21, It was $800 secondhand, and had been only used for 1 month.  New for that model was $1600

Doesn't mention the reason for the sale and i don't care that there is a small nick in one of the blades - a nick is a nick and a new blade is $150, so that should be factored into the price, as does the fact that the warranty period is over and second hand tms aren't covered anyway.
I still think $1600 is a lot of money and I personally wouldn't be brave enough to spend so much and have so much risk attached. I'd rather save up and buy new. That's me, though. I'd like to know how the new owner goes with it.

Hi Kez,

Why are you selling?? I don't know anyone who doesn't love their TMX, so just hope that's not the reason  :(

Hi,
Sorry I am not on the computer much so didn't know these replies were here.

I had no idea how much to ask - sorry - looks like I am asking too much.

I simply don't use the machine and it is just sitting in the cupboard.

I will have a think of a new price or if anyone wants to make an offer.

Hi Kez,
I think it's a shame your selling, get it out the cupboard, be active on the board and you will have suc fun with your TM.

Kez, perhaps we can convince you to keep your machine and get to love it like we all do here.  Have a browse of this forum, check out the recipes and the photos and it should inspire you to put your TMX on the bench - we never put ours away, it gets used too much.  Did you go to a demo and have a delivery demo or was that all a bit disappointing for you.  Something made you buy it in the first place so if you could get back to that place in your mind, perhaps you could make the most of having it.  Some people would kill for a TMX but just can't afford it, you have one and don't use it - something terribly wrong here.  Please give it a go before disposing of it.

Kez, do you have a consultant? If you are in Perth ... I am more than happy to help you to get you using it! Everything Judy said is right. I would ask you give it a go too. There are a couple of other people that have been in the same situation as you on the forum and have gone from your position to not wanting to part with it and using all the time  :) Let us know what you think, you will not find a more willing bunch to help you out than our forum members!!  ;D

Exactly what judydawn & faffa_70 said ;) find a good consultant, or go to a cooking class (you get fed dinner & they are very easy going) - I bet we could get you loving that machine  ;D

Hi Kez
How sad...like the others said something must have made you buy it in the first place and one golden rule is never put the thermomix in the cupboard...always on the bench and if you have a look around the forum you wil see so many great recipes and there is always a handful of people ready to answer any questions and help out...and if your lucky enough to get one of the consultants on the forum ie they live close to you than all the better...you should really reconsider selling...im sure you just need some inspiration!  :)

I agree too. I couldn't imagine putting my TM in the cupboard either. Would be a shame to sell it and maybe down the track regret it. Maybe even just sit it on the bench so you don't forget about it and just make something occasionally and hopefully you will get the desire back to use it more often.

I feel the same Kez. Keep it, get a couple of friends together and have a demo, fun and food cooked for you. My two most favorite things( apart from DH and kids) are my tnx and the forum.
