I dislike the TM spatula as well, at first I thought it was because I am left handed, now I use a Tupperware one that i had for awhile and not a nick on it, I bought a new TM one and it had cuts in it the first time I used it.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

I must admit that I don't like it much either lol. But I still have never used anything else in the TM. Although I would never try using anything else throught the hole in the lid when the blades are running.

same, I would  never use a normal through the hole

If you are making sorbets etc the ice will also nick your spatula.

It is ok to use a soft silicone like one for scraping out the bowls etc but like you all say only the TMX one for use when blades are in use  :)

I only use the TMX spatula for stirring through the hole.  I don't even use it to remove the steaming basket, I just use a knife or the prongs of a fork - I find it quicker.

I use the TM spatula for stirring when the blades are in use, but that's all I use it for, i am the same as you JD knife or what ever is at hand is quicker for the steaming basket.

when I first got the TM i was happy with the spatula, but now I only use it for a rigid food or lifting out the basket. funny how I have a little cheapie that I now use instead (but I am still not dropping through the MC hole if food needs a little coaxing as I am very well trained)

same as most others, only use the TMX spatula for using through the lid and lifting the basket. The softer silicon one remove the food so much easier.

I only use my TM spatula when I need to use my probe thermometer to check the temp of whatever is in the bowl.  For some things temp is critical and my TMX temp control is not accurate.

I drilled a hole in the flange of the spatula to hold the probe.

Thanks to this forum I bought a ice cream stone and paddles to replicate cold rock ice cream which is ridiculously expensive and one the small heart shaped cake tins from target. Still looking for some nice banana split dishes.

This issue is great, lots of fab recipes and the TM is advertised, and a competition to win one  ;)

3 Girly tops, an even girlier cardi, pair of jeans.............and dropped off "Rizzo", the pink lady mixer at the doctors  :(.........she is going haywire at the moment, and to top it off, she fell over in the boot on the way there (I slammed on brakes to avoid hitting a magpie  :-))), and I opened the boot to find she was leaking grease with the fall !  :o :o
I am told she will most likely need a new circuit board, but if anything bigger needs fixing......he will ring me

Thanks Maddie, we were hoping for something a little fancier - I'll keep looking I'm sure something will come out around Christmas.
