The plastic round ricotta basket is fine ,  just line it with a well floured Chux.
CP, lovely.  Inspired to spoil myself , again.

Thanks chookie. Just what is the point of these baskets in proofing?

As far as I know Gert is that it makes it pretty.  :-\ a high price to pay for being pretty I know.
I have been making my own ricotta. I will buy some so that I can use it for proving dough.

I used to buy myself a dress every Christmas for the day itself, don't know why I stopped that - I guess dresses went out of fashion there for a while but they are certainly back in now.

CP I love your gift to yourself, you deserve it so enjoy it.  I give the kids one choice if I'm throwing things out, do you want it or not -if not then it goes to someone else.  I find kids of today rarely want what you have though, they have their own ideas and more importantly, generally more money than us anyway. When I say kids, of course mine are in their early to late 40's so not technically kids anymore.

Nice bread Gert.  When I did a bread making class a few years back we placed the dough into the rattan baskets to prove.  We were told besides the shape they gave it also helped dry it out more which gave a better crust.  The ones she had for sale that day were like the one you brought Chookie and surprised me that the dough did keep it's shape while baking.  Could kick myself now that I didn't buy some on the day as they were much cheaper.  Did yours include the fabric cover Chookie?  If so you never wash it, just keep sprinkling with flour.

CP, do share your review of the ice cream attachment. I've seen it on eBay for about $130. Not sure of that's better than a purpose-built maker. Or if I need one at all. Have yet to make any icecream in the TM. Need to find some time.

It looks exciting mrsb.

Mine didnt come with a cover Trudy. Just instructions of how to use it. Before you use it you spray it with cooking oil and lightly dust with flour. Then shake out all the excess flour. Before you use it you may need to do the same again. It is to be brushed with a dry brush every 3-4 weeks and may be washed but must be completely dried in an oven. They should never be stacked as they will retain moisture. I hope to use it tomorrow.

200 kilograms of charcoal?  440 pounds of charcoal? Did I miss something?
