My DH and I went shopping on the weekend and he 'decided' to buy me a pizza oven, stand and accessories for Christmas.
I'll be baking, smoking, making bread and of course pizzas in it. All outside and not heating up the kitchen.

Also saw Johnro's vacuum sealer on the weekend so am looking into that as a little pressie from Santa under the tree for me.

DH doesn't really like to shop (or spend money for that matter) but you managed to sell him on the Dinner Spinners and the vacuum sealer. Next time I want something I'll let you know and you can sell him on the idea. He takes it so much better from someone else.

My team at work have decided that a "kris kringle" or "secret santa" is something we don't need, so we all put in to buy something that we're all happy with.....

One class at my DGS school organised a free dress day / pay a gold coin donation.
They raised enough to buy a cow, a goat, a pig, ducks, chickens, seeds.  It was a great effort and a really good idea.

I love this idea. Too many people being bought presents they do not need (or want) = waste of money. Such a nice thought to think that someone so much worse off can improve their health and education instead with the money. I also suggest perhaps thinking of donating the money locally to the disadvantaged like the Salvation Army, the Big Issue, a foodbank etc.

Last year DD3 purchased a goat, bought some chooks for a family and donated to the Smith family for DH - gift buying is such a strain and quite difficult when all of us have way more than we need and in this family all get what they want as required!!!!  :)  :)

Today I ordered one of these after seeing Nigella use one for a cheesecake in her current series showing on TV.

It comes with a ceramic base so no having to remove it from the base to serve.  Isn't supposed to leak either even when filling with thin liquids like in the video.  Only time will tell of course, but I like the look of it enough to give it a try.  :D

I will do fundj.  They've already posted it to me so should get middle of next week.

Here's a video of Nigella using it.

flavourofthemonth, I'm presuming you are in Australia?  This is where I got it from.  :)

I know the cheesecake is sinful but I've got to try it once.     ;D
