Marina , we don't get frozen water so not sure.  We think the food will last a week for 3 chooks and the water the same.
Can put up multiple sets or better still can set up set with a plastic bucket with lid and attach a little cup drinker. Much cheaper and there are lots of ideas on Google.
They didn't need teaching but did need to be shown the Mezzanine floor with the nests. .

Brenda as Julie mentioned I use the very fine semolina from the supermarket. Think I have the macro brand from woollies at the moment. I think it gives it a slighter better taste.

I bought this measuring spoon set a couple of months ago. I hate the set where they are all tied  together. It's got the 1/4 tsp and 1 tsp in one side, and the tablespoon and half teaspoon in the other. Love it. It may be the Tivolo brand. I also bought the Tivolo silicon mat which is the best one I've used so far. The other spoon is a handy little silicon spoon for scraping the remnants of food out of jars. Amazing how much is left behind.

I know they are only very little in the small scheme of things but I have used them so much since I've got them that I had to share. Those measuring spoons really annoy me how they are all over they place whether you are washing them or whatever.

I get cross when you look at measuring spoons in kitchenware shops and find the tablespoon is only 15ml. Not happy jan.

That annoys me too. A tablespoon is 20ml in Australian standard measurements.
Not many recipes call for dessertspoons these days but on googling found it was 10mls.

I purchased some new measuring spoons on the weekend and when DD went to use them noticed the difference in size between the two sets, I never knew my old set are the smaller measurements!
