so have decided to manage with 1 drawer until that breaks then buy a new one. Not sure what to get

I have a F&P, but have heard all good things about Miele - thats what I will buy next time.

Love 3g, at the shops looking at knives.

Any brands anyone can recommend?

Just make sure the blades don't  bend and take some advice from the seller. Buy the best you can afford and enjoy the shopping.

I went to a knife shop, they seemed very knowledgable, but its the same shop that sharpened my other knive!!!

I have a Miele after my F&P one broke down. Really love how quiet it is as our kitchen is combined with our family room. Highly recommend it.

We cant hear our miele, we often ask each other has it finished?!?!?

Bought a victornox medium size knife for $50, cut up an apple with ease, bliss! LOL

MMMMMMM  maybe not the place to shop then.  Why not go to a Chefs type outlet and  next time you need sharpening go to your  local butcher they would have very good advice on sharpening. They usually  have professionals come around.

My friend asked me what i wanted for y birthday, i told her a sharp knife, lol, to stab dh in the back of course, lol

Just used my new knife to cut up watermelon, it just sliced through!!! Sharp knives are great

I think  that rack is for regular knives and not precious steel blades. Mainly the reason for not putting them in the dishwasher is that the dishwasher detergent can be corrosive and it is also not good for wooden handles. Maybe the Furi knives would be ok but  I would not risk an expensive  knife.

I removed those racks from my dishwasher so I could fit my long stemmed wine glasses.  Priorities right!!!

My husband put my special boning knife  in the dishwasher about 40  years ago.  I asked  him tomrefurbish it  from handle to tip of blade. Cost him plenty. Probably could have bought a new one for what it cost him. Lesson learned . I still have both. And I still love both but one is not as sharp as the other these days.

I would go for Miele every time. They try to help you over the phone rather than push a service man to come to your house. Have saved a lot of $$$ this way.

The knife is 40 years old. The  DH 82. Waddya think ? LOL!

Pure Living UV-C Purifying Cutting Board System from TVSN
I freaked when I discovered mould growing on 2 chopping boards, that are housed in a stand 
I use my bamboo block for veg and fruit, but the hard plastic boards for meats and chicken.....hopefully this thing will work to stop that happening again.
