I have 4 plastic chopping boards in an enclosed stand maddy but I make sure they are completely dry before putting them back in.  So far, no problems.

Tried them but do not like them. Slippery  little buggers and my knives are so sharp they took bits out of them which I found in my food.

My DH made me a Mahogany chopping board many years ago.  It is almost too heavy to lift  but when it gets a bit worn he just sands it back to pristine. I clean it with raw lemon and put it in the sun.

Guess what I got today...................a fan forced oven (yay), now with my convection microwave and my fan forced oven there is no stopping me now. My big cooking day tomorrow is going to be finished in no time as I can use both ovens at the same time.

Ok it's not brand new but didn't cost me anything (actually I came out $50 in front as I already sold my stove before this one was installed (even the insulation cost me nothing as I know a sparky)

Very happy (as you may already have guessed) 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃

Oh thanks Gert. I do love new stuff but it's not always affordable with a big family and I am happy to buy second hand if I know it's still really good and saves me lots of $$$ so I can spend on more important things.

Mandi, doesn't matter if it's new or not, but whether you're happy with it!

I bought a new shoulder bag today. I've been avoiding buying a big bag for a long time.. I use a little bag that's basically a purse with a handle. Had to get the big bag so i can fit my my iPad in!😁

Next purchase is an adapter for the iPad that has slots for a camera card, USB port and a few other slots.. Going to get it from amazon.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Well Megan today will tell if I'm happy or not with the oven as I will be giving it a good test run cooking for the family.

In the "what won't they think of next?" category has appeared this recently introduced (and quite expensive) -

Ready Robot Gluten-Free Breadmaker

It isn't easy to get information about the Gluten-Free mixes developed for this machine.
Bready sampler.
and they aren't sold or shipped directly from Amazon so there might be a problem if something needed to be returned.

I don't have to worry about gluten and in my opinion there are enough sites with excellent advice about baking gluten-free breads and etc., that this machine seems to me to be rather a waste of money.

With only one review so far, it is too early to know how the machine will be received by a wider range of customers.

So, after writing the previous post I thought I ought to confess that I have purchased yet another bread machine - very inexpensive, refurbished model of a type that I had not noticed prior to a few days ago.
Never heard of this brand in appliances.

I am intrigued with the two small loaf pans - obviously vertical pans instead of the now more common horizontal ones.

I just want to experiment with it to see if two different types of dough will both bake correctly in the side-by-side pans.

The other consideration is that with a 2.5 pound capacity, half a pound more than any of my other breadmakers, I might be able to use it for my favorite panettone recipe, which (from sad experience) will hit the top and lift the lid on the 2-pound machines.

Besides, it looks cool - I have a portable stereo CD player that looks almost identical except for the swing-away handle and it's even about the same size.  How cute is that!!

Good on you Andie.

My shopping has been Alyce's book, (thanks Kathryn)Tenina's book, The Beechworth Bakery book and a few fiction books. I had great fun spending my Christmas vouchers at Dymocks.

Bought 20  ice/herb containers on a stainless steele stand $99, ouch great though. Do t know if I woud have spent my money but am sick of ice cream containers & brown paper bags.
