No Maddy he isn't strange. We had a lovely beef roast, cold, last year and a terrine. We can't eat a whole turkey and find that the breasts etc you buy are far too salty. This year I'm trying to get a turkey breast I can season and cook myself. There will only be the 3 of us and crazy (but loved) ma -in law for one meal. Plus anyone else we find nearer the day who will be by themselves. DD often finds single people at work who join us.

There's no stopping you maddy, your purchases are delightful but please pull the plug on your computer and get moving on DD's bedroom or her new furniture will end up with nowhere to go ;D  I expect to see a picture of her new room by the time I get home on Saturday. ;)

I'm not anywhere yet frozzie, we are leaving mid morning tomorrow to spend 3 nights in Tanunda in the South Australian Barossa Valley - I'm sure you have heard of that spot  ;)  Be home Saturday afternoon sometime.

I have to go to the market this morning and to the farmer's market this afternoon but after that I will not be out and about until next week.
This Thursday is Thanksgiving Day in the US and shopping tomorrow will be ghastly and the day after TD is known as "Black Friday" as the stores are full of people taking advantage of all the big sales.
(Black Friday because it should put retailers "in the black" for the year.)

People are already camping out to be first in line when some of the major stores open at midnight Thursday night/Friday morning - because supplies of the most desirable items are limited.
The local news stations are showing folks with tents already lined up even this far ahead of time.  The overnight lows here are in the upper 20s (Fahrenheit) and they have to be freezing.
I wouldn't go out there if they were giving the stuff away.

Maddy, I have those cookbook from when they weren't "retro" and I dressed like that, which is hard to believe now.  I went shopping wearing a dress, heels, a hat and gloves.  Oy!  Am I glad things have changed!
