Some snuggly warm quilts with long sleeves arrived in the post today for that I purchased for my baby daugther. Trying to keep her warm without using the heater on these cold nights.

Also a teapot with infuser inside and some glass jars, which are actually a lot larger than I thought.

Love receiving parcels ;D

We had my brothers Alpaca after the Black Saturday bushfires.  We only have a handful of sheep but he was very attentive.  We had a stray dog in the paddock and he gathered up the sheep and stood between them on guard.  Did you know they poo in the same spot all the time, makes it easy to collect and you can put it on the garden straight away,

Apparently Alpaca wool makes the warmest socks!.....can't see me spinning the wool though  :P
....hopefully they do their job, those fox mongrels are getting a $300 meal each lamb they take  >:(

I knit with alpaca, it is gorgeous and soft and oh so warm! I hope they do the job, foxes are a real menace  >:(

These alpacas sound very interesting. We have a pet sheep who's name is alpaca :)
Didn't help much when 2 dogs attacked our sheep and killed 3 of them. Luckily the dogs were caught and were put down. They also attacked a cat and killed it and another flock of sheep the same night :(

One of my friends has sheep and goats as well as two llamas that protect them. they had a problem with feral dogs and the llamas kicked a couple killing one.and lamin another. The dead one had been chipped and they were able to trace the owner and sued him for allowing his dogs to run loose and cause some sheep to miscarry. they had video of the dogs on an earlier incursion.

Robyn,  I'm pretty sure I've seen ones like that at target.....I think they were a Nordic ware brand.

I love alpacas. Have been waiting 10 years for Macka and Wacka.

Maddy where did you get the griddle pan with smilies.

They were at target, reduced to $22, and at the moment if you bought 4 homewares, you get 40% off the lot  :)

We had a stray dog in the paddock and he gathered up the sheep and stood between them on guard.  Did you know they poo in the same spot all the time, makes it easy to collect and you can put it on the garden straight away,

I only found out they poop in one spot  :P  aren't they considerate. LOL.
we have been told a few stories of their nurturing, which is just a bonus.
They are being delivered today, so hubby is checking the paddocks now with trepidation.  Hubby is spotlighting every night, and he's seen them running in packs  >:(  They are even striking the older lambs now, so it's a real problem!

How awful Mandy. Intrigued by the alpacas.
Please keep us posted.

We've had dog attacks on every farm we've been on.
Once lost 25 9 month old lambs to 2 dogs.
Dogs been in field all night.
A few we managed to save, but it depended where and how badly they were bitten. Some were dead, some had to be shot.
They were meat lambs, almost ready to sell.

Dogs were shot too.
Owner had very small children at home.
Scary.
