Love the Australorps too, Maddy. They're beautiful birds. We have two - bought young and as purebreds ..but I doubt that - one has a largish comb and has some ginger around her neck.

Lovely natures and good layers- on most days we have 2 eggs.

On a bad day, this is what happens and we can't quite determine who the culprit is.. It's either one of the chooks or blue tongues or.....!! Even blamed one of the dogs once lol. Have thought about rollaway nest boxes... But the ready made ones are expensive...

Is that Beer roaster, like the recipe where you put a can of opened beer up the rear of a chook.  I sort of remember something like that going around years ago.

CP its a fat seperator, finally bought one, great for gravy & left over casserole juice :)

Yes it is AB :) can do Gerts chicken without tryi g to balance, use in oven or bbq :)
