I have to go shopping for a two slice toaster TODAY - DH melted ours over the weekend ... don't ask!

Anyway, from looking at previous posts it looks like Breville does a good four slice toaster so I will probably buy a Breville in the hope that their product is good over the whole range, but if anyone has any other ideas I would love to get some feed back.

Marina,  love our Breville 4 slice toaster. 
Gert,  love the AF.  I use it for odds and ends.  Couple of slices of garlic bread, 6 scones, wonders little Apple pies,  very good for 2 people. But wouldn't try to talk anyone into one as I am a recognized gadget person.  Have just ordered a Roomba vac cleaner.

When I was in Myer sat for the TSS fashion show I sneaked upstairs to look at the AF.  Still Nope!

When I looked after some doggies in a penthouse in Cairns last year they had a  Roomba. It was absolutely useless. So glad. I got to try before buying as I had considered it. It picked up not  a dog hair on the carpet and glided over all the dog hairs , crumbs  and everything else on the tiles. I thought it was broken but it was actually brand new. I told them  they should return it and get their money back.  Apparently it was the most expensive on the market and they really didn't care that it was useless it was more for show and they had a cleaner anyway. I tried to get it to pick up a small pile of fluff. I had gathered and it  just went round and round and round  doing a happy dance.  I even took a VDO of it for fun. Seemed to me like a YUPPY  toy.

Good luck with yours chookie. I fail to see how a round thing can get up stuff around square things  like furniture and it certainly does not get into the corners.

I have a friend who uses hers on tiles but she also has to use her Dyson she says if she wants clean floors. Can't see the point in using both.

I wouldn't live without my Sadie ;). We have wooden floors and a corgi that drops an enormous amount of hair as well as its mother ;) we have a carpet mat and it does a tremendous job of it. My floors are cleaner now then when I had a vacuum cleaner and I don't have to do it!

I had to buy a new toaster a couple of months ago because the middle element of my breville 4 slice toaster blew up, and it was only toasting one side of the bread.  Choice recommended the Kambrook Essentials 4-Slice Toaster KT60, which I managed to pick up for about $30 from the Good Guys. They also do a 2 slice toaster in the same range. It has all the functions of the Breville at a third of the price. I'm happy with my choice.

My 4 slice Cuisinart seems to have done the same thing this morning Marina. Toast was burnt one side and hardly any colour on the other side although the inside element is working, it is nowhere near as bright as the outside elements. I think I'll go for a cheapie this time, in fact I have a 2 slice toaster in the cupboard now that I think about it.  Won't need to buy one at all.  Just checked, it's still under warranty.
