I've been out buying Croatian rellies presents for when we go over. Very hard to find things that don't weigh a ton. Bought a fairy dress and a doll for 2 yr old girl, 2 x Lego "City" sets, marbles, & Trouble games for a couple of 6 & 7 yr old boys, surf shirt for a cousin, scarf for an aunty, cab savs for uncle & cousin, garlic crusher and stamps for cousin, plus a few pkts of Tim Tam biccies in case I'm caught short. plus somewhere I need to buy and fit in the suitcase a couple of bath sheets and beach towels to leave there for future use. Bath towels over there were like flannels and it's one luxury I like to wrap myself in. Myer were having 40% off cookbooks and I bought Ottolenghi (oh dear) for myself. Just happened to have a $20 gift voucher also so it was only $10 - bargain!

Great shopping CP. I have a friend whose family are in Serbia. He takes lots of gifts back for everyone when he goes back.

My DH thinks I spend too much time shopping for a pressie, but I like to get
that feeling
when I find something that the recipient is going to love it. Same with cards, I always read the words to make sure it sounds like "me". As I cross things off my "to do" list I get a little more excited about going. I think I will create a forum holiday thread where we can post our holiday photos and comments in a similar fashion to the shopping thread so we can keep track of those on holiday

I am the same, I hate to think that I am giving something that will go straight into the bottom drawer or the op shop, it's a total waste of money. I think if you are thoughtful selecting a gift that it is appropriate for the recipient it will be welcome and appreciated.

Bought a 25 x 4 cm tart pan for my next round of lemon meringue pie 😁
40% off from Myer. So it was about $12 😄

Love the holes in the base BZB, they should ensure a crispy bottom.

I bought a book I had heard about when I was in Big W yesterday. I believe it is very funny.
