Great buy Gert.  A friend of mine brought one last week and she has been having so much fun.  Sends a new pic every day of what she has made.

CC, I hate reading manuals.  Would much rather just been shown how to use something.  Wayne reads them cover to cover!!!

Has anyone who has purchased a new computer, tablet, laptop, etc. noticed that the first thing you read in the manual is to read the manual before using the machine, but you cannot access the manual until you start to use the new machine? 

Overall, I find manuals frustrating as they use specific terminology in the belief that everyone knows what it means ... well, I certainly don't know so I usually just give up.  I much prefer figuring out- or trying to figure out - how something works, or else being shown, then go back to the manual to see if I can unscramble the directions (and generally, I can't!).

Even the books for dummies I find easier after you have played a bit.  At least they are written in plain language. Women at least have a go at the manuals where as men don't as they  know it all.

Even when the manual says the screen 'should look like this' it is seldom the case that it does.

When it says SHOULD it NEVER is.

I taught me everything I know about computers and such like and the education is sadly lacking but at least I give it a go and not let it intimidate me.

Mostly we females are good at figuring things out.

Okay I read the dishwasher manual.
Eventually worked out how to set the "Clarke" scale for the water hardness of our water.  Check!
Filled the salt reservoir with water as stated and then added the dishwasher salt.Check!
Filled the rinse aid reservoir with rinse aid.Check!
Turned it on for its inaugural wash.Chose an Eco Wash. Added the dishwasher tablet in its slot.Press Start. Check!
DH walks in and says " why is the display in German"  :-))
Reread the manual.Factory setting is set to German :P Threw the manual on the table and went to bed.
Today I'll set the display to English. :o
