whilst on the subject of dishwashers, I need to buy one for the holiday home. It gets rented out so the dishwasher needs to be a) good at washing and drying b) easy to operate. Does anyone have any suggestions on brand? I would love to get a Miele but I think its out of the budget, and maybe treated a little heavy handed at times.

I just replaced our Bosch with a Miele and love love love it. My MIL has had the dish drawers in her last two houses and really likes them. Unfortunately for a family of 5 they aren't big enough for us. I really love having a cutlery tray so it was narrowed down quickly to a Bosch (never again in a million years!), an Asko or a Miele. We have had an Asko before and liked it but after talking to countless people we went with the Miele.

I have only heard good things about the Miele, but I'm just too scared with spending that amount of money and people will break it because they don't read the instructions or something...

I love my Meile dishwasher too 

We got the base model which was less than $1000, if that helps??

We have a Miele CP, and it is pretty idiot-proof.  I have used other (cheaper) dishwashers in rentals /units that were harder to work out how to use.  Just don't get their top end high tech navitronic one - the base model is simple and robust.

We have Asko and love it and DD has Bosch and so far loves it.

I have a Bosh which I love. The house came with Ariston appliances and I have replaced that crapola oven and dishwasher. Next to be replaced is the gas hob when it finally gives up.

I love my Miele vacuum cleaner. I'd never have anything else after using it. I have a F & P Dish Drawer in both my houses. Okay, but when they die I'll be buying Miele.
I recently spent $2500 on a PA system for my Celebrancy business, so won't be buying much for a while...

Though, I really need a new iPad. Mine is slow and loses it's charge really quickly. But, the one I want will cost over $1000! So, will be waiting a while.

MJ, I had today set aside to go to town to upgrade my iPad as I'd talked myself into thinking mine was slowing down too and I can't download some apps.  This morning I got cold feet though and decided to stick with this one until it stops working altogether, the price is what's putting me off and this original iPad which a dear forum friend gave me some years ago has served me well and I'm sure it will continue to do so for a bit longer - unless I win Oz Lotto tonight LOL.

Just make sure you clear all opened windows at the end of the day. If you leave them open it will slow everything down. Double tap the big button you put your thumb on and slide all windows to the top,and outta sight.

You could take your iPad to the apple store, ours was losing its charge very quickly so we took it in and they replaced it for $150, they kept the old one and now Ashton is very happy because he was trying to save up for one of his own.

On dishwashers we have had a Bosch for 6 years apart from one minor problem last year it's been great gets used at least twice a day , sometimes more

Suzanne, mine's holding the charge well but being the original model, I can't see Apple giving me the latest model for $150 although that would be nice.
