I indulged in a stone shortbread platter too.
Oh Decadent Dot!!! Love, love LOVE!! the shortbread mould. You know I've been looking for one here in Aussieland for such a long time - never found one in any kitchen shop - ebay either. Heaps from USA but the postage is a killer.  :-\

I have 2 of the shortbread stones like posted, got them both sent from US.  One is a Christmas one and the other Teapots.  Have only used them a couple of times; have been meaning to put them on ebay.  :)

maddy, I don't think you want to know how much the skewers and stands cost, ridiculous really even if they are stainless steel, you have to buy the 2 parts to it.  It doesn't look like much in the photo but if you've seen them at the cafe you will know what they are like.  Here's the website anyway.

 http://www.hospitalitydepot.com.au/catalog/tableservice/accessories/products/stand-metal-for-meat-skewer

Cost me just over $129 delivered for 2. plus I bought 2 big bowls to sit underneath from Harris Scarfe.  :o

Dear Julie....you are talking to a girl who spent $179.00 on 6 gingerbread houses - (christmas tree ornaments) from the U.S.

........I get it..... LOL.....they are uber cool though  ;)

Again...... sooooooooooo bad! Off to Brissie shopping for the weekend and with all your posts I have the whole time locked in to kitchen gadget shopping. You're all a very bad influence.

[Speaking in a whispered voice]That's what I'm telling DH anyway. I'm not going down for this on my own.

LOL Faffa.  I meant to let you know that my butter bell is working really well, I really like it.  Will be interesting to see how it copes with our summers, I have my doubts but even if it just gets used in the cooler weather I'm still more than happy with it.  ;D

oh I love mine too ;D  I think they will cope reasonable well with the summer as it is insulated by the outer crock, then the water and finally the bell - I could be wrong though  :D

Now lovelies why didn't I think to ask on here before now - where did you get your butter bell?  Have almost clicked purchase on amazon a few times since getting thermie and homemade butter is always in the house.  :)  :)

I reinterate a previous comment this thread is bad, bad, bad.................but it is another support group for another of my numerous problems!!!!!!!  :-*  :-*  :-* No online buying for us today - the solar panel installer arrived this morning so with 18 panels now on our roof - the bill came with the installer.  I did mention to DH though that my lone purchases are never into the 5 figures!!!!!!!!!

Mine are from a lady here who sells them. She does post them they are the Emile Henry the same as these for $39.95 plus post.

http://www.emilehenryusa.com/Butter-Dish.html

just not the green or the fig colours ;)

I can PM details if you want them, although with the Aussie dollar so strong it works out about the same cost as from Amazon etc
