DD always has tiny quiches, they can be made well in advance and just heated as needed.  The chicken hors-d'ouevres from the EDC are brilliant party food with a dipping sauce.  I make them into about 3cm balls, cook them in the oven and just reheat in a large non-stick pan on top of the stove on party day (in a little butter, it adds to the colour and flavour) and it makes heaps but they soon get gobbled up by kids and adults alike.

What dipping sauce do you use with the chicken hors d'ouevres Judy? I might try these for our party this weekend.

Karen, I use my home made sweet chilli sauce for adults or the bought variety of dipping sauce which is milder for kids.  I leave out the onion from the EDC recipe and add 2 extra spring onions and don't use dried herbs now as I don't like them as much if I do. I just used fresh parsley last time and find this is enough.  I make about 6 dozen of 2.5 cm sized balls for kids parties and for adults I make them about 3cm and I think 20 minutes is too long for something this size so I test them when I think they are done.

I like to make mini quiches for kids parties with rolled bread slices as the pastry, quick, easy and tasty

;D It was here at home. Heaps of fun by everyone. All great comments.

We planned it all outside, but then it was slight drizzle, and a bit windy.
Most of the parents would not go in the wind, so stayed on the front deck.
We ended up moving it to our back deck, so yes lots of people through the house constantly.  Our house is quite large.

We set up a slip and slide with hoses, and 3 bottles of detergent, for the kids, and had plenty of running games, ect.
I had a fire engine come, so the kids could be fire man and play with the hoses, and sirens.

It was great fun all cleaned up now.
Food, heaps of  mini quiches, fairy bread, pies, sausage rolls, thai fish balls, chicken balls from  EDC, 6 doz cup cakes, 4 large birthday cakes, ice blocks for all kids, plus chips ect.

Today is office work for me.
