Forum Recipe folders
« on: July 22, 2011, 04:33:41 am »
Well I had to buy another recipe folder yesterday as my folder was getting crowded. I decided to put all the recipes I have tried and liked in the new folder, and the old folder is for all the recipes I have yet to try (And there is alot of them). My choices are endless. I intend on trying a new recipe at least once a week. I will never get through them all but I will have fun trying.

I know it's extravagant ,but "iT" thingies are to my hubby what kitchen thingies are to me. ( confused !) any way....I have an iPad and all you have to do is copy and paste in the notes, thanks to all you wonderful contributors I have 280 recipes I am enjoying working through. And not wasting paper and ink like I used to.

I wouldn't mind an iPad aswell. Maybe If I use the excuse that I will save on Ink and paper DH might understand if I buy one. Worth a try

Always worth a try Dede, I have to try and stop my hubby buying computer gadgets ! Mind I don't know how to post photo etc with it,I use it as a glorified cook book!

The only thing that concerns me is that I might spill something on it in the kitchen. At least paper can be replaced easily. Can you buy water proof covers for them lol. When I cook I usually have ingredients spread right around my kitchen and have a mess everywhere lol.

Hi bedlam, I have an iPad too, didn't know you could do that. My iPad is new to me even newer than my TM which is also new to me. What happens when iPad needs upgrading, do you loose all your recipes.
Thanks

I have an iPhone and my DD downloaded an app called "Bump", you can knock two iPhones together and a photo or contact will transfer across to the other iPhone just like that (think it would also have the app to be able to do it), so I am sure there would be a method to transfer information across, even if its one of those memory sticks

My DH thinks not,he also said I should sync my notes to my computer as back up. My DD2 suggested it when I first got TMX as I thought what a waste printing everything. You just hold your finger on the recipe,it goes blue with a copy at the top, press copy go into notes click + then press the page and press paste( it sounds complicated but is easy, I find myself using different fingers invade I lose it,but that's just me!)
Oh,and I rename mine with the first word of category ie main, dessert, this makes it easier to find as I don't know how else to sort. Although you can search words- but sometimes you just want to browse a section

Thanks bedlam , will give it a go. Do you have the recipes in sections or are thet just listed on a fresh new page.
Sitting out by the pool with the iPad and will have a play, while I still have time. Back to the grind next week, not enough hours in the day etc.

Just managed to put recipes into notes, thanks :)
If you can work out a folder system, that would be great.

My iPad dusts on a recipe book holder in the kitchen when cooking, easy and safe.
