Favourite EDC Recipes
« on: July 27, 2011, 07:43:57 am »
Last night I made the 5 seed bread from the EDC for the first time.

It was so delicious, I can't believe I havent made it yet. I've often felt wary of cooking from the EDC after having a few disasters!

Now that I'm discovering the EDC again I would love to know what other recipes members like, even with the odd tweak here and there!

I think I get more recipes here than from the book, but in the EDC I use:
Mushroom Risotto
Vegetable stock concentrate
Pumpkin soup
Sorbet (with less sugar and no egg white)

Usually I base my cooking on a recipe that catches m fancy, and then adjust to suit our family... Like most others!

My EDC finally arrived.  I have read it from cover to cover and back again as I have been unable to try anything because I have been away.  Any other favourites?  Let me know.  I have been busting for THE Australian book for quite some time and I finally have my very own copy.  I am thrilled to have the book that so many of your refer to.

Glad you finally got it Lee.  An Australian must have the EDC  :D  I'd just make sure to check the review section as some recipes have been tweaked by members. Your book will have all the tweaks from this list which came from H.O. through CP way back in 2009 for those of us with the earlier editions.  Will await your thoughts on the book and recipes you try with interest.

Hi Loves,

Tonight was a late night home and a quick wash and pack ready for the next conference starting tomorrow afternoon.  Thankfully, I had my EDC on the plane and was able to spend time reading through.  I found some chicken in the freezer and made Chicken Stroganoff.  Yum yum yum yum yum!!!!  I wanted pasta or potatoes with it and as I only have the one Thermodarling (more on that later) I decided to whiz up a kind of potato rosti (I think in EDC it is called Mock Fish).  I used the German recipe which sounded a little more authentic, from Jeden Tag Genießen.  I prepared that first and threw it into a non stick pan while the chicken cooked.  So delicious!!!

When I finally get my demonstrating up and going, I am wondering if there would be some way I could earn a second Thermomix.  Ed already mentioned that a second hand TM21 might be a good idea.  We must wait and see.... Only a few more days until I am back with you all full time. I miss you!

Love,

Lee
