Hello everyone!! I just got my new machine yesterday and have been having a ball playing and trying it out!! I am a mum of three boys living in the yarra valley of Victoria! I am really looking forward to getting confident with my new TM and experimenting with all the fabulous produce we have here. I was really pleased to find this forum to share ideas and hope to learn much and one day be in a position to share in return! Cheers Jaz!

Oh I am so jealous. I am going to a party next Friday night and I have absolutely no idea of the turn around here in Germany for delivery. I found the factory on a map and it is not that far away, perhaps I could dress in black and grab one in the middle of the night. This forum is just so much fun to read and I cannot wait to share my own recipes soon. Good luck and have fun.

Hi Jaz, welcome to the forum. Many times I've heard Mothers say that their growing boys eat them out of house and home so with this little, noisy helper in your kitchen you should be able to keep up with their demands quite easily. You will find everything you need on this wonderful, friendly forum - if it is not here, just ask and someone will come to your aid. Check out Cream Puff's favourite list of recipes
here
, you can't go wrong if you start off trying some of those recipes. Have fun and let us know what you are cooking. Our recipe review section is a handy place to look and to add your thoughts on any of the recipes from the books.

Just wanted to say a first hello as I just got my Thermie a couple of days ago too. Annoyed right now because hubby is on nightshift and I can't run the machine while he's sleeping. I'm a working mum with 2 primary school aged kids living north of Brisbane. I'm somewhat addicted to the beetroot salad. I purchased mainly to increase healthy recipes, but so far have made 2 lots of pikelets, hot chocolate and mashed potato, errrm that's the kids fault. I was happy to convert the bolognaise sauce replacing the meat with cooked lentils & split peas and made the most delicious veg shepherd's pie. i'm off the the fruit & veg shop to buy more beetroot!

Hi Vivaroo, welcome to the forum. What a pity you can't cook due to shift working husband but we would all totally understand why
If it was me, I would be taking my thermie out to the shed on such occasions and cooking out there if it was far enough away from the bedroom so as not to disturb DH
Either that or move DH's bed out to the shed
I take it you're a vegetarian/vegan family?

Hi and welcome Vivaroo and Jaz.
Leesmac78 I think dressing in black and doing a midnight run is awesome. We won't tell on you, especially as the factory is so close.

Hi Jaz, I think my vegetable stock woke him, but he'll get over it because I've made a delicious moussaka, pumpkin soup, bit of Philly so made some garlic herb dip, can't be arsed washing so why not throw in a brocolli salad just picked from my dad's garden. Phew Thermie is exhausted! Is this the type of obsessive TMX behaviour one can expect in the first few days?
OK what's with the salt content in the stock??? I can understand the shelf life but I made mine with 50 gms of salt and that tasted VERY salty, but nice (and purple because I used purple carrots). I've frozen the majority in ice cube trays so should last OK.
Hi Judydawn, I'm vegetarian and my family is be default because I won't cook meat. I'm fairly relaxed about it though having only been vegetarian for about a year, ie if my mum cooks something with meat I will probably eat it, as long as it's not a big obvious piece of steak or something. Secretly I still eat the occasional fish shop Dim Sim, there can't be much mystery meat in those! But most recipes my family like I can easily convert ie anything with mince I just add lentils or other pulses and that's so much healthier and cheaper and the meat loving family don't even notice. I'd probably be vegan except for the constant supply of milk & cheese my husband brings into the house, embarrassingly I convert some recipes from my vegan cookbooks back to containing dairy
But one of the reasons for getting the TMX was to do things such as nut milks and nut creams that my crappy little blender could never handle and eventually burnt out.
Yeah might move his bed out to the back shed!

Vivaroo the salt content in the stock is so that it won't go off. Mine lasts for about 6 months but I've usually used it before then. A lot of people freeze theirs. I love how the different vegies make it different colours. My todays batch is dark green as it has cavalo nero (spelling) in it.
