Another Thermie in Adelaide
« on: August 06, 2011, 02:46:25 am »
Hi all!

After many months of pondering, forum stalking, blog browsing and all over web wandering I finally ordered my Thermomix last weekend! My delivery demo is scheduled for Thursday afternoon and I can't wait- I've been driving DH mad with my wide eyed enthusiasm and prolific bookmarking of recipes to try.

Looking forward to sharing my successes and failures with you  :D

Welcome Honeyjoy to our forum. Hope Thursday comes around really fast for you. Make sure you have the ingredients for the Vegetable Stock Concentrate so you are ready to go. Why not pop over and enter in the poll so we can keep track of where our members are from.
We have lots of delicious recipes here that our members have kindly posted - and here is my current list of favourites - we also look forward to hearing from you if you have any queries, comments or converted recipes of your own to offer.

Hi Honey Joy, welcome to the forum.  Some Adelaide forum members got together yesterday in town for a get together, perhaps you can join us next time.  Sounds like you have done your homework and are ready to go - Thursday won't come around soon enough for you.  Get your housework all up to date because you won't have time for that once the thermie arrives  ;)

Thanks everyone! It is so wonderful to read of everyone's passion here for good food.

I'd love to come next time Judydawn- I did read about the Adelaide catch up in advance and thought of popping in but thought it could be a bit weird having someone random attend who had never posted and didn't even have a Thermie yet!  :o

I went to the farmers market this morning and went a little berserk buying a heap of produce for the veggie concentrate (thanks cream puff)  and all the lovely soups I'm going to make.  I bought more eggs than usual for all the baking, as well as almonds, dried fruit...

I couldn't help thinking differently when browsing the stalls -every item begged the question "what would my Thermomix love to make out of you?"

Has anyone got any tips on how to not put on 10kg in the first month of Thermie ownership?  :D

Honey Joy, we would have welcomed you into our group but never mind, next time perhaps.
How NOT to put on weight - stay away from the cakes and dessert threads - if you can ;D ;D.  Some members bake a lot but just don't eat too much themselves so maybe this is the way to go.

I'm so very excited 'cos my consultant Is delivering my Thermomix today at 3pm!  I'm ready to go- gaffer tape thanks to CP's suggestion and gym workout planned as well as a fully stocked fridge and pantry of course. Might need to set an alarm for tonight to remind me to get out of the kitchen and go to bed... :D
