Grainy soup - everyday cookbook

new to tmx, the pumpkin soup using the "everyday cookbook" always seems to come out grainy instead of smooth
have processed it more than what they say, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.....
which is a bit strange, am puzzled, please help

What kind of pumpkin did you use nazar? I believe a soft skinned pumpkin like butternut pumpkin is fine to use with the skin on where some other hard skinned pumpkins are less suitable and may need peeling first.

Definitely needs to be a soft skinned pumpkin if you are using the skin as well. Also if you are also using the seeds it will have a slight grainy texture to it. I suffer it for the health benefits of pumpkin seeds

hi there
l used a jap pumpkin but l did peel it and did not put the seeds in . to me it feels like there is coconut texture in the soup you can feel it in your mouth on your tonge

Perhaps you are not cutting it small enough or not cooking it long enough? I've used jap and the peel and it always comes out very smooth.

yes sounds to me like its not cooked enough hence the smaller bits and longer cooking...

Yes, I find that grainy anything when it is supposed to be smooth means that it needs longer cooking rather than longer pureeing. If it turns out grainy again, add a 100g of extra water and cook it for a bit longer.

l am shore there would be lots of goodies and can you imagine the conversation talk ,talk munch ,talk ,slurp,munch ,munch slurp talk talk .you get the idea
thank you so much everyone for the ideas.
l tried butternut and cooked onion and pumkin for longer than it stated in the edcb and it worked perfectly.
l have been copying down all the tweeks for the recipes l want to cook and l love this website it makes it so easy
and saved yucking tasting dinners

Hi nazar. I went to an advanced TM cooking class last night and the trainer (Fiona Hoskin) several times referred to making sure we blend the soup at the end for long enough to make it silky smooth. We did not have a pumpkin soup amongst ours, but I thought I'd share her advice on your thread.
