Hi Everyone,
I have just joined the forum but have been looking through recipes for a few weeks now. I got my thermomix delivered 3 weeks ago and have probably used it 2-3 times a week so far as I'm still getting used to it. I have to make sure that I don't just use it for casseroles and sorbets as that is really all I have done so far! I'm yet to steam anything!

Hi Shadarley, welcome to the forum. Keep looking through our recipes as there are lots of interesting things you can make apart from casseroles & sorbets (not that there is anything wrong with them) - bread, cocktails, sauces, desserts etc etc. Have a look at the all in one meal section - that should tempt you to use the steamer and it will be something different to serve up. You will eventually be using your TMX 2-3 times a day like a lot of our members and you will gradually work your way up there. Just take it steady, get your confidence up, ask questions if need be and keep checking out these recipes. Cream Puff's
list of favourites
is a great place to start.

Hi and Welcome Shadarley, I agree with Judy, Keep looking through the forum and find some recipes that you like. The uses of the thermomix are nearly endless. Try making some butter or sauces, peanut butter, Tomato relish, Cakes and biscuits. Desserts, steamed veggies, soups, porridge, hot chocolate, ice cream, dips, risottos, Chicken Kiev, curried sausages, egg and bacon pie, quiches, steamed puddings, steamed fish, Pasta dishes, non fried rice etc etc etc etc. You need to find some recipes to inspire you to become confident to use the TM more. Good luck and if you have any questions please ask.

Hi Shardarley and welcome to the forum. The varoma can seem very daunting at first and you are not alone there. There are many recipes on this forum that incorporate the use of the varoma and once you have the hang on it, you will find endless uses for it. Good luck and great cooking.

Welcome,
You have come to the right place to make the most of your machine. I haven't yet cooked anything off the forum that hasn't been a success. In fact I have so many recipes we say we will definetly eat again. We are spoilt for choice. The biggest problem is having the time to play. Just have some fun.

Welcome to the forum Shadarley!
The first thing I steamed was some fish fillets with veg on the top tray + rice in the basket: now a regular dish at our place. Just take your time, have all the ingredients handy and give it a go

Hi shadarley and welcome to the forum. Why not pop over and
enter in the poll
so we can keep track of where our members are from. Don't think twice about the varoma, just find a recipe that uses and go for it - its just a steaming basket so nothing too technical but very handy and healthy.

Done a bit more with it and used the varoma for the first time the other day to do the chicken normandy with mashed potato and steamed veges. Just have to tweak the steaming times for the veges - I like my broccoli with a little bit of crunch and when it turns a lovely bright green! The chicken turned out well - not over cooked, which I assume is still possible when steaming
