« on: August 11, 2011, 09:33:46 pm »
Hi, I am leesmac hubby. Tomorrow night is the demo. Please let me know how the thermomix has changed your lives. Will it make my hubby cook even yummier things that he does now?? Best wishes, Ed

Hi Ed and welcome to the forum.

The overwhelming response to your query will be DEFINITELY, YES.  For just about everyone on this forum owning and using the TMX has changed their entire lives when it comes to cooking and baking.  For me, it has been a wonderful transformation - cooking was always a chore, now it is fun.  I can make pastry, which I never had success with before, as well as mayonnaise and custard (both of which had been big disaster areas for me in the past).  I think you will find that Leesmac will become much more adventurous and makes lots of new things just because he can and for the fun and joy of it (be warned, you may have to watch your waistlines, though).

If Leesmac is already a good cook, this will just give him even more inspiration.  There are so many things you can do with the TMX, not just cooking, so you will also get much greater variety in meals, snacks, breads, dips, sorbets, ice creams, etc. than before.  Until you own one I don't think you can really appreciate all it can and will do for you.  The demos are an eye opener - just wait until you get your own machine - I bet you will even get into using it as well.  It is so easy, really like cooking with numbers.

Lastly, this forum is a great source of inspiration, ideas and support so that if you or Leesmac get stuck on something, or are looking for a specific meal or help, an answer is never far away.  Hope you enjoy your demo and happy cooking.

Thermie, allows me to cook so much more in much quicker time, and we are all time poor these days. Everything I make from raw ingredients- eliminating all preservatives and the forum with it's thousands of recipes gives me so much variety at my finger tips.
Do it Ed,there will be no regrets.

Hi Ed!  I love cooking and my TMX is a great helper in the kitchen.  Main bonus for me:  it saves sooo much time!  You can shortcut so many recipes with a TMX.  Have a good time tommorrow!  My hubby and the 2 other guys who were at our demo certainly enjoyed sampling dishes made with TMX  ;)

once you get used to easily being able to whip up basic ingredients eg. vegetable stock paste, chicken stock paste, baking powder, SR flour to have on hand, and you use the TM on a regular basis, not only is it quick and easy to whip up delicious meals, desserts, dips (well, you name it) you become accustomed to the flavour of food. When you eat like this, you will find that nothing compares to the taste of the delicious food that you have at home. You will be amazed at the capacity of this machine, and make sure you have a look through some of the cookbooks to see what could soon be whipped up in no time at all in your own kitchen.  (buy one  ;))

Oh I think you have both go the bug now, And there is absolutely only one cure for this bug and that is to buy a Thermomix. Once the bug hits its impossible to get rid of it I am sorry to say, so I really think you only have the one choice. But believe me you will never regret your purchase.  :-))

hahaha think you already have your answer non?

Definately hands down the best purchase I have made in the kitchen...I love to cook even pre thermomix but for me too it does two things...saves a whole lot of time, tasty meals etc in that short time also and allows me to experiement with so many things I wouldnt have bothered with before (just not enough time).  I remember Leesmac posting something about being flat out with work so this would definately be an added bonus...I dont know if either of you speak other languages but there are recipe books and forums around the world too and this forum is a huge source of information and different cultures and the recipesz are endless and are being added every day!

Enjoy the demo and yes think there is someone who would be eternelly grateful if you did get the Thermomix but that is something only you and hubby can decide (even though you would be crazy not too!!  :P)

oh and there is of course the benefit of tasty home made goodies that like previously mentioned will make it hard to appreciate anything commercial...once youve gone thermie you never go back !!

Failing all these suggestions getting to you Ed, may I add that cocktails are so easy in the Thermomix  ;) ;)  No negativity from this household.

Going to a demo makes all the difference - you have to see it to believe it and once you see it, it is hard not to buy one.  Glad you guys both agreed it was the way to go and look forward to hearing all about your adventures.
