Stories behind naming your Thermomix

After reading people's posts on various topics, I am curious to find out what other people have named their Thermomix and why.
Mine started out as Theo before I got him, but somehow Thermie seemed to suit him better.  Now after having him for 3 months, I think I need to address him on a more personal level.

I know that those of you who have named theirs will not think I am weird.  This is comforting, because some people I know who haven't met Thermie, think I am a bit weird.

I love cuddling him when I'm tucking his cord back in (is that weird?)

No Therminator you are definitely not weird, I think most of us have named out TM, Here is a thread all about what we have named our TM's. Makes for interesting reading.

I can imagine some people think it a bit weird Therminator but not us lot.   I always wipe mine down lovingly but my cord never gets taken out of the plug - it's permanently ready to go

Mine doesn't have a name generally, but very early on, my DS10 (a big Star Trek fan), dubbed it the 'Replicator' - because 'it's like in Star Trek where they just speak to it and it serves them the food they asked for'.

But as I am in Germany,  we don't use the "th" sound (only a "T" sound) so TAIRmie has just stuck.  No one would know what a Thermomix is, rather a TAIRmomix.

I chatter away to Tairmie in the kitchen.

I think he is a boy.  I will turn him upsidedown and check in the morning and be sure to let you all know!

Originally I called my TM the kitchen B**ch. My husband used to call me the Kitchen B**ch (lovingly of course) and I thought as the TM has taken over most of the kitchen dutys I passed the name on. But as I have a young family around most of the time I usually call it Thermie.

As I said in the thread Dede mentioned, mine's called the "Bimbo" (not very original I'm sure) - my wife says I have to have at least one girl in the kitchen whose buttons I know how to press!  The first one I sold to a friend is named "Whitney" -  is gorgeous with a loud voice.

I was talking to my 96 year old Nana (as I do every day) today and she finally said to me, "Gosh, you certainly love that new Kenwood of yours..." 

EEEEK! New Kenwood indeed!!!!!!!

I explained to her, once again, with all the patience a grandson can have, that Kenwood and Thermie are indeed two different people.  Kenwood has kind of become "Orphan Annie" in our home, where as Thermie is kind of "my favourite child".

As I have raved to her about little else since I brought Thermie home from the cabbage patch, she said that I had better organise one for my Mom (her daughter) and she would pay for it.  Why didn't she pay for mine???

That is so sweet for your Nana to buy a TM for your Mum.You will be able to cook with her at Christmas and maybe she will join us here on the forum. Your Nana could possibly get you some accessory for Thermie for you for Christmas.
