Ideas for Anniversary Meal?

DH and I are celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary tomorrow. The kids are being put to bed early and we're Eating Out at Home.
I had planned to make steak with pepper sauce as it's easy (I'm permanently exhausted at the moment, joys of a young family
) but when I went to get the steaks out of the freezer to defrost tonight I discovered that they weren't the good quality beef steaks that I'd thought them, but lamb shoulder steak for braising
So currently I have 2 salmon fillets in the fridge defrosting, and I'm trying to get my head around something a bit special to make with them (TMX or not). But I am so used to cooking child friendly meals at present that I just can't remember how to cook adult food!!! I have no inspiration at all, and am hoping my TMX Foodie Friends will help me out. Any ideas folks?

Caroline, check out some of the lovely recipes which come up when I googled
salmon in the thermomix
. Such a variety to choose from but I think some of the cooking times are way too much, I only steam my small salmon steaks (roughly 125g portions) for 6 -8 minutes/varoma temp with 600mls boiling water/speed 4.
This
one of Thermomixer's really appeals to me and is on my 'to do' list over summer.
I have done
this
recipe from the forum which is nice. Have a read of that thread.
Happy anniversary tomorrow, hope the girls settle early so that you can enjoy your special meal.

There's a recipe for salmon and mango in the Full Steam Ahead cookbook which I haven't tried, but the fish recipe i have tried is the asian fish fillets in the EDC and i really like that because it's one of those all in one meals. The salmon recipe i really like is the smoked salmon soup; I replace the smoked salmon with fresh salmon cut into cubes and add it a minute or two before the soup is ready so the salmon isn't overcooked.

We liked the Salmon with Broccoli from the Demonstators Delights Cookbook.Needs a bit of tweaking Caroline but the end result was delicious.

Well, I'm deeply ashamed to admit that we were so exhausted that all thoughts of romantic evenings with beautifully laid table, etc, went completely out of the window!! We ordered in an Indian takeaway (a very good one, though - the best Indian in London is round the corner from us. And that's not just my opinion, it's official in the awards they've won) and collapsed in front of the telly.
How bad is that?
However, I'm planning to make CC's recommendation from the Demonstrator's Delights book.
I did use the TMX to make a mango lassi for pud - does that count???
Sigh. Oh well, next year will be better I'm sure.

The best anniversary Caroline - why? Because you listened to yourselves and took the pressure off, yet still treated yourselves to a meal you didn't have to cook! Happy Anniversary to you both

Good on you Caroline - it doesn't matter what you do on an anniversary as long as you can spend it together and still be very much in love that is all that counts.

Your Hubby should be grateful you remembered, on my 19th Anniversary I arranged to go out with a girlfriend and asked my hubby if he could babysit, yes no problem with a smile, well that night I got ready, girlfriend arrived at the door with the Taxi I kissed the kids and hubby goodnight, hubby looking a bit strange, it was only the next day he informed me it was our Anniversary, so I asked him well why didn't you stop me, he said "I thought it was a joke".
Still going 23 years married 28 together! Glad you had a great night.

Relaxing and together is the best, and no washing up with take away.
