Both yummo. But without the top is my preferred choice

It does in the long term, not short term. :)

As you find you can make so many things quickly, you cook more and more..

Tell DH you can make him more things without the nasties in them..

I love my pie maker too.

Has anyone got the Sunbeam Traditional sized pie maker as in my link below?  I saw one today at an electrical store and it looked really good.  Makes normal sized pies which I like the idea of more so than the smaller ones. They also had a family sized one too but the individual ones would be more convenient these days.  :)

Thanks Mcmich, I've just read all 38 pages and saw that too.  Hopefully it was replaced for her, she hasn't posted back.
I think I'll get one, can't hurt.  ;D

julieO,  got a replacement and made 20 turkey and seafood pies.  I freeze them in individual plastic bags.  It is just so handy to thaw in microwave and reheat in pie maker.  I use Uni's Sour Cream  recipe for the base which can be rolled very thin, and bought puff for the top.

I have the snack size, but think the traditional one would be better, don't use it much.

You won't regret buying it Julie - great for using up small quantities of leftovers, quick apple pies, egg & bacon pies etc. Love mine, best thing ever - after the Thermomix of course  ;)

I just made a big batch of meat pie filling then froze them in silicon muffin cups - they are a perfect size to fit into the pie maker for a quick meal.

What a good idea. I am off to fill my silicon cups with water to see if they match my pie maker. (remembering that the pastry will take up some of the pie maker room) I have several ideas for making pies ahead of Christmas and freezing them. It is sad that my suggestion of my egg and bacon pie which is a great favourite will probably not freeze well due to the whole egg content as frozen eggs go rubbery don't they?

Thanks for the tips Chookie.  :D

I bought one today, really like the size, they are the same size as the pie tins I usually use.

Thanks Judy, I'm looking forward to trying it out.  ;D
