I've just spent the morning checking out air fryer recipes - now I have to move my butt as I'm running late to visit Geoff  :-))

Time disappears rapidly when you are engrossed Judy.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

This is the first of my own recipes cooked in the airfryer - Sweet orange chicken.

I was checking blogs etc this morning for thigh fillet times and it is easy to become confused when some of the recipes are from the USA, a picture of a Maryland portion was called a thigh so I knew their timing would be far too long. So I went it alone.

I marinated 300g defatted boneless, skinless thigh fillets and these were cooked just a tad too long.  Next time I'll cook them 5 mins 180o, turn and cook the other side up to another 5 minutes but checking after 2 minutes.

Marinated overnight in the following
juice of 1 large orange
40g Kikkoman Terikayi Marinade original flavour (I made my own)
1 tblspn honey
1 tsp wholegrain mustard
1 clove garlic, crushed

Some recipes for the airfryer call for the marinated chicken to be drained and dipped in cornflour, sprayed with oil and baked.  To test this, I did 2 pieces that way and left the rest as they were.  There really is no benefit of dipping in cornflour, these 2 stuck to the netting.

Some people also line the basket with alfoil (leaving a gap all around the edge) for easier cleaning.  I soaked my basket immediately in hot soapy water so it was quite easy to clean (not as easy as the TMX though  ;)) but I will try this method next time I'm cooking chicken.

Yes but slightly overcooked Uni.  This machine sure cooks things quickly  ;D

Looks good. It does seem to cook quickly.
Is that the low fat Changs noodles in the side dish? How did they taste?

Yes it is Katie but I'm afraid I didn't like them.  They may be better in soup I think.

Thanks Yvette, it takes a while to get used to these new machines - especially when not all cuts of meat are covered in the recipe book.

My freezer is full of bread Uni, I don't think I'll try it in the airfryer  ;D

I crumbed some very thin steak and cooked it in the air fryer. I floured, egged and breadcrumbed it about an hour before I did it. Just before I cooked it I sprayed both sides with oil. I cooked it at 180 for about 8 minutes. It was slightly over cooked. It still tasted lovely though and the coating stayed on well.

Can you view it while it's cooking Cookie? Or stop it to see?
