BZB I have been admiring your food too. I am a tiny bit interested.

Astara did you end up trying Chookies KFC in your airfryer?

Haven't tried Chookie's KFC yet. Is it a wet batter? The airfryer can't take wet batter, that is the dripping wet type.

No it's not a wet batter so I think it will be ok. BZB  did you say you cooked 2 thighs and had to do it in two batches???

I didn't look at appliances direct and looks like I didn't need that extra dish, maybe I can ring them tomorrow and take it from the order.

If I had to choose 3 appliances for my kitchen they would be :
1. Thermomix
2. Slow Cooker
3. Philips Airfryer

These are the appliances that get used regularly - my other appliances stay in the cupboards. Healthy chips and wedges are quick and easy - even my husband can make them himself. It really is just a mini convection oven and uses much less electricity than the oven for small quantities and hardly any cleaning required.
Highly recommended.

I got one just before christmas - the small one.  I like it as deep fried food wasn't agreeing with me.  I'm cooking for 2 1/2 people (one is a 17 month old) and it is good for us.

I haven't really used it to it full potential but I've done chicken (wings & thighs), meatballs, roast potatoes, sausage rolls, pies and frozen chips great in it.  The one thing I haven't perfected is crispy chips from scratch, even following the direction (not sure what I'm doing wrong - so any tips much appreciated).  I find it great to cook certain items instead of putting my big oven on especially in this heat.  My MIL seems to do everything in it including sausages.

So if you have a family I would consider the larger one.

I ordered the bigger one and just waiting for delivery. I'll need to rearrange my benchtops so I can try and leave it out in the open until we get used to using it.

Shayla, I would be interested to hear what type of things you cook in yours and any tips/tricks.

Cookie XL is the latest model, launched last year. Biggest capacity and more powerful.

The older models are all the same size for the basket. Some with digital controls. Some with knobs. The smaller ones have accessories such as baking pan and fish grill pan.

Arancini is one of the things I'm looking forward to cooking Uni. I'm so impatient I was thinking earlier today that maybe I could cancel the TVSN order and go and see if the Good Guys would price match! I'm so busy with work though for the next few days I actually wouldn't even get time to play with it so just trying to put it out of my mind.

After looking the things BZB is cooking in her Airfryer I've decided I'm going to get one. For those with them do you suggest paying the extra and gettting the new XL model and also on TVSN you can buy an extra roasting dish for only $20 do you suggest getting that?

Yep, was delicious - only one problem now... DH wants his chicken done like that every time now... :-)) :-))
Mine is an actifry. Mum brought it for me!  :D

I think I should stay right away from this thread. You are beginning to convince me. I will have to build a much bigger house soon and that is a no no as this is our last home.  :) ;) ;) ;)
