I never deep fry and rarely shallow fry. I do make wedges in the oven once a fortnight or so. I've bought mine to cut down on the heat in the kitchen. I love that it only takes a couple of minutes to heat up. I often bake things like chicken etc in the oven.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Chookie, please please add your temp and times to the list. It would help all of us as a guide. Tonight, for example, we cooked the eye fillet for 12 min and we found 10 mins as given in the general guideline might have been more suitable for the meat eaters in the family who like it rare to medium.

Hally I'm finding it brilliant for us because we do shallow fry and deep fry quite a lot and I'm now nervous about the kids using the deep fryer after it was left on for 24hrs, and the other main thing for me is heating up small things like pies etc which I have for my lunch most days. I have a 900 oven which takes forever to heat up and doesn't do a good job of browning. I didn't think I would use it that much but now that I've got it I'm finding it fantastic and using it for more things than I was expecting. I won't be bothering with cakes etc but will try our pork belly tonight as I hate the mess this makes of the oven.

Wonder...that was sickening....You were SOOO lucky that didn't catch alight  :o
We went out one night & came home to realise I left 1 candle burning  :-X. I'm now OCD when we leave the house!

Hally, no your not....I'm the same as Chookie, I have a 900mm oven & it takes 25min to get to temp. before I cook, so cutting down on power here & time, as well as cutting down on extra oils with deep/shallow frying.

It does make laugh though....we all have a machine that does "everything"....but how many appliances have we all bought since  ;D LOl
.........EAT CAKE!

Yvette, I don't eat meat. It appeared succulent just a tad over cooked for DD's liking. I should mention I also placed some foil and roasted walnuts in maple syrup for 3 mins on 200 to put on beetroot and feta cheese (which I had cooked separately in the air fryer). Can't remember how long I had it in for...

If you are getting it, buy the pan. I bought a Corning ware pan which holds a lot more than the pan sold on TVSN but is @$))?)*^^%# to get out of the Fryer since it is so hot. The philips pan, although small, has a handle to lift out of the fryer.

Don't know why Philips is not manufacturing a pan and grill plate that is available for the smaller versions of the fryer but not for the XL. version. The grill plate is only available OS.

My miele heats up in a few minutes on rapid heat, but it is 900 so its a lot of i en to re-heat pies. I have started using the varoma to re-heat, but I think pies would go soggy.

Sometimes I think what a huge oven for 4 small pies & its a waste. Also bake potatoes with a salad.

Can you do bake potatoes in the skins?

Last night dh deep fried chips, we have them about every 3 weeks & I shallow  I suppose about the same. My oven crisps and browns.

I would buy one if I thought I would use it. My deep fat fryer I dont use & the pizzas are done in my tandor.

I just dont see how I would use it.

I cooked my wontons in the varoma yesterday.

Is it that you get the fried taste without the oil?

Would love to see some chips.

Makes me laugh too Maddy, spend $2000on a tm & swear to dh I will never need anything else ;D ;D

H :)

Courton, I've read somewhere that Philips will sell pan for XL this year. I'm resisting buying cake tins to fit into the XL. Waiting for the actual accessories to become available. Hope they are not too expensive. The fish grill for the other Airfyer sizes look good.

Hally, there are lots of people experimenting with their airfryers. Pinterest, blogs and Facebook has many pictures. I've airfried mini spring rolls and they were very yummy. Mum made airfried wantons when she visited us last month. Golden colour and crunchy. Frozen thick chips turn out very well. Crunchy when you bite into them and fluffy texture inside. Waiting for forum friends to figure out homemade chips :)

Some food need trial and error to get it right. It's fun to play with, and the knowledge that it's done with just a little oil makes the time invested worthwhile. It's even more fun when more friends learn together :D

ooh! I'm tempted but not sure as I have a perfectly good gas oven. The value for us might be in reheating/cooking small portions (especially for teenage son!)  Despite having watched most of a segment on tvsn, I'm still wondering how noisy it is and where the heat vent is (it must have one right?) Could I put it under wall mounted kitchen cupboards? Or would it be better to put it on top of my stove where there's an exhaust fan overhead? Does the unit itself get hot on the outside or bottom? Would love your thoughts...Thanks!!

Bacon and egg roll for lunch. Hash browns are so good done in Philip. We used to do them under grill but they took for ages!
