We bought a Tefal 2 in 1 actifry approximately 4 months ago. The quantity of roasted vegetables and or potato chips is enough for 4 adults. Roasted vegetables are cooked in approximately 35-40 minutes and taste great, crunchy with a non greasy aftertaste (1-2 tablespoons oil. The infused olive oils give a great flavour). The actifry also has an upper tray (programable timer alerts when to add the tray) which is good for cooking lamb chops, chicken etc. The actifry is easy to clean, doesn't heat the house and best of all (as a non meat eater), doesn't make the house stink of meat when used.  :D

Even though the metal dish I bought for my XL air fryer is for the smaller model, it suits me.  I'll buy the bigger one when it's released but if  I want to make a frittata for 1, the smaller size is better.

I haven't read the whole thread but I know I wouldn't bother buying one. I had one of those easicook ovens and it took up too much bench space. Also difficult to get things in and out without burning myself.
I deep fry very occasionally and use a blend of duck fat, coconut oil and beef dripping. Much better for you than polyunsaturated oils.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

I didn't buy the smaller dish.  Will see what I need after I have played with it a bit.

Looks yum, Chookie and Yvette :)

How many drumsticks did you pack in, Yvette? I still have oven mentality 😁 I made sure the drumsticks did not overlay each other. So I cooked 10 in 2 batches. If I could do that in one go, that would be fab!

BZB it was a kilo but they were small ones they are called drumettes not sure how you spell it as you can probably see there is no chicken on the ends just bone. Cooked it as per the recipe in the book.

No BZB it's like the bottom bit of the drumstick. Hope that makes sense.

Lovely looking food everyone. The other night DH said 'just think of it as a mini oven'. So now I try and link what's cooking to the time taken in the oven. I hope to cook my Tandoori Chicken in the air fryer. I really love it.
We have an Easi cook we use a lot MJ. Especially in the van. I love that too. The air fryer just seems a little more intense and the heating better.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

I had a little bit of a play today...

Firstly I tried tempura bettered  zucchini flowers, I used a very light batter and put them on baking paper for the first 5 minutes, removed the baking paper for the last 3 minutes- I included a 'before airfryer' pic in the photo, I didn't get the effect I usually do with shallow frying, I still need more work...thinking spraying with oil during cooking might be useful.

Then for dinner I tried roast chicken. love. love. love. The most succulent roast chicken I've ever had. DH and DD declared it a winner! I would most certainly serve it to guests (provided I sharpen my carving skills :D )

What I did: I used a 1.4kg chicken (washed, dried and then rubbed a mix of lemon zest, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 tsp dried oregano, 2 tsp chilli flakes, 2 tsp dried coriander and 2 tbsp lemon infused olive oil all over the bird) and cooked it for 30minutes (including warm up) with a few cut up potatoes around the bird. At 30 minutes, the juices were running clear and I'm sure it would be fine, but I gave it an extra 10 minutes (I had chicken food poisoning and am only just starting to cook chicken again) just to be sure. Yum. If I use my airfryer for nothing else, it will be for roast chicken.
