Thanks for this recipe.  I've just made some to grease my new bundt pan with tomorrow - don't want the first cake to stick to the pan!

Will be making this too. Saves having to melt a little butter. Thanks for the posting.

Please forgive me for asking - but why would you use a hydrogenated fat (copha)?
Isn't that a big no-no nowadays due to the hydrogenation?
Would this work with just coconut butter/fat/non-hydrogenated whatever version?
Thanks
G

I think it may work with coconut oil, not sure.

Teagg, I've seen other recipes that use shortening instead of copha.

I'm not too concerned as I used less than a teaspoon to glaze a whole pan.  There's always the old butter and flour method but when I use this method I end up with flour on the cake and if you don't ice it it doesn't look too great.

Wow. My bundt tin has small dimples that don't cope with oil and flour. Don't have copes but do have coconut oil. Look forward to trying this. So excited.

Have made some of this for my Christmas hampers.  Uni, I take it you give it a good stir or shake before using it?  Also, the original recipe says to keep it in the fridge but you say that is not necessary - do you really leave yours in the pantry?  Does it set too solid in the fridge?

I made this a few weeks ago with coconut oil, just keeping it in the cupboard, yes Judy seems to need a stir or shake before using, loving it so far.

This looks great. I don't have any copha but might give it a try with coconut oil which I have plenty of.

JD in winter I keep it out and in summer the bulk of it will be in the fridge, have a shot glass full on the kitchen bench ready for use .

A few sites say refrigeration not  required

Thanks Uni.  I've just sent some home with friends who came to clean out my gutters (well the husband did, the wife and I talked and drank coffee ;D - she intended making a cake when she returned home anyway so it was very timely).

I made a batch using 1 cup measurements so if I was to keep some in the fridge, is it possible to brush with it once it really hardens up or do you have to remove some prior to cooking to soften it?
