Hello from Melbourne :)
« on: September 27, 2011, 10:23:32 am »
I'm a VERY long time lurker, always meaning to join up but too scared to incase I get addicted to yet another forum. But I've rationalised my memberships and, well, here I am  :D
I've had my thermomix for about 5 years now, and we're still in the honeymoon period. Love it.
What else... I'm in Melbourne's eastern 'burbs, I know Dani from the Kitchen Playground in person, and "know" Brazen from another time and place. AND, would you believe this, but I live up the street from KerrynN's son's school. That sounds a bit stalkerish, I should explain - I was looking for a salad recipe today, found the Mrs Nicholls' salad recipe and it linked to her son's blog. Lo and behold, I saw my DD's kinder friends staring back at me! Small world.
I have 3 kids (DS nearly 8, DD5 and DD2), and am plodding my way painstakingly through a naturopathy degree.
Hope to get to know you all soon  :)

Hi Mrs Plod, welcome to the forum.  You must feel quite at home here already then with those connections.  I may have to warn you that this forum is very addictive but it is like no other as you will soon find out.  Enjoy your time here, you've had your TMX longer than many of us so you should have a lot to contribute.

Hi Mrs Plod. Congratulations on finally joining the forum after lurking so long :D

5 years & still in honeymoon phase! That's brilliant, but of course, not surprising.

You must have lots to share with us.

Cheers,

Welcome to the forum MrsPlod. Wow 5 years you must be a star. What are your favourite recipes and would you like to share them with us?

Oh cripes, I shouldn't have told you all I've had it for 5 years... I'm not a star at all!! I am however heartily regretting not becoming a consultant way back then  :D

I make green smoothies on a daily basis, and my favourite recipes usually involve the varoma - all in one type meals, such as steamed meat and veg in the varoma with rice or potatoes in the basket and some sort of sauce beneath. There are so many variations on this theme, we never get bored of it.

I'll have to make more effort to write recipes down to share, and I'll join in the meal planning fun too.

Thank you for the warm welcomes  :)

Don't feel pressured by us MrsPlod, it's just that we are all addicted to the forum and always on the look out for more new recipes, ideas and inspiration.  Anytime you want to share anything, that's great, but don't worry if you never do - I think I have only ever posted one recipe so far - I'm not a very instinctual  cook so not so good at the inventing side of things, but pretty good at following other people's ideas, etc.
