Guess who made a new recipe for Walnut and Apple Twist and waited and waited and waited for it to rise? I'd forgotten to put the yeast in. :-\ I put the yeast in and rekneaded it and reshaped it etc. Now I'm hoping it will rise. I need for it for supper tonight at our meeting. Otherwise it will be a very quick cake. What a dope. It shows you shouldn't do too many things at once.

Not too bad. DH and I could see bits of yeast in it but the visitors ate almost the lot and left the other food so it can't have been too bad. I have a photo to post.

I've actually run away from my kitchen and pantry. I was putting stuff away from shopping in the pantry and would you believe knocked another bottle of port over. It is under everything. I've mopped it all up with all the glass fragments etc and decided to run away to here. :-\ I have to wipe all my flour bins etc that live on the floor as they were sitting in it. I'm either never buying any  more bottles of port or finding somewhere else to keep the booze. It wasn't expensive. At least it wasn't the vodka.
Oh well have sounded off so I had better go and put everything away again.

Thank you. After I'd had a rant and went back it wasn't so hard. Would you believe DH arrived home from car club about 20 minutes after I'd finished? He asked what I had dropped this time. Gotta love him. :-*

Here's the bread. The taste is lovely but I think it should have risen more. Better luck next time.

My sister is pregnant again which is wonderful, she is a consultant and is suffering from what she calls baby brain. The other day she had to make some choc chip apricot cookies to take to a meeting. She placed them in the oven and started cleaning up only to realize that she forgot to add the apricots lol.
So she had to then make another batch.

I'm not pregnant and I still have these problems at times.

Oh Cookie what a waste of port.   I've had the drops recently. A jar of vegemite, a bowl and a few things that have bounced luckily. DW always reckoned I was terrible about breaking dishes etc. I used to tell her that ws becuase I did all the washing up.

I'm glad I'm not alone. Dashingden it's a bit warm to drink Port at the moment but I do love it round a campfire. Benjamins is my favourite for quaffing.
