Lovely auds. The furniture in my house is all jarrah and I love it. I didn't have the kitchen done in jarrah though as it would have been too much.

A reasonably tidy workbench helps.  Mine is often covered with produce from the garden waiting to be dealt with, my boys snacks (or leftovers  :-))) and a cookbook or 2 for inspiration!  I need to get an island bench to have more room for pastry-making..or more room for other bits & pieces  :D

Hi everybody! I just spent a couple of hours reading every entry of this thread. Love the photo's and how the subject moves from kitchens to views to hairdo to clouds. Brilliant!

My forum name Jacq, short for Jacqueline. I use it in most forums, most times with 63 (year of birth) behind it. I live in Ridderkerk, the Netherlands, in a suburb so I tkink you can imagine my view........just more houses. Since Holland is such a small country and I live in the crowded west part of it, every city and village here just 'flows' into the next city. Recently we purchased a chalet, a small wooden caravan, on a camping site in a forest and that's where we spend our weekends now. Thermie ofcourse travels with us wherever we go, even when we take a holiday in France.....I can't imagine life without it now. It changed my life completely.

Next week I will try to post some photo's of my kitchen at home and here at the campingsite. Since last week I started to work 'part-timer', used to work 3 days a week but now only 2 so I can spend more time cooking and finally contributing rather than just lurking on this forum. I want to start a blog too. Still considering whether it will be in English or in Dutch. Think I will try Dutch first, since there already are that many great Thermomix blogs in English but almost none in Dutch. The thermomix is still rather unknown in Holland and I would love to try to help change that.

But thanks a lot for your lovely comments, photo's etc, I loved reading them!

It was nice to read about the place in which you live Jacq and I look forward to your photos too.  This thread certainly is an interesting one where we get to know a lot more about our members and I'm glad you are enjoying it.

It was nice to read your post, Jacq.  I have very fond memories of The Netherlands, a good friend of our is Dutch and the last time we were over it was mid winter and all the canals were frozen - they were planning to run the 12 cities (I think that is what it was called) race just after we left - the race is the one where they race from city to city on the frozen canals.

Looking forward to seeing your photos when you get a chance.

At any time of year the freezer is where we find anything near icy, but I do remember the almost frozen canals of the Netherlands as we were there in December. View from our kitchen yesterday thought I would share - pity that the pic does not do justice to the beauty of the sunset  :)  :)
