Hi there fellow thermie lovers. My name is DizzyGirl for 2 reasons.....
The first is my dog (a Jack Russell) is called Dizzy. She was named by son who was 3 at the time and totally obsessed with Bob the Builder  :D
The second reason is because of this wonderful machine I call the thermie. It is definately the best purchase I have ever made and do not know how I would survive without it. I love it so much it often makes me feel dizzy.  :-))

Sorry I do not have a picture of my kitchen to post atm, but it has country style white cupboards with brown tiles and chicken feature tiles splashed about. I am a mad chicken and rooster lover. I currently have about 10 chickens, 2 roosters and 4 ducks. I am about to get another 2 chicks this weeks. I love using my fresh eggs in my cooking and have become a great lover of poached ducks eggs.

It has been fun reading all your comments and I look forward to getting to know you all.

Take care

DizzyGirl xxxxx  :-*

Welcome Dizzy,  there are a few of us 'Chookie" people here.

Cookie it is the Roosters that cause the trouble with neighbours.

Andi ,  thanks for the photos.  Love them.  We get 25 inches of rain in a drought year,  but 40 inches in a normal year.

Hi DizzyGirl and thanks for letting us know a bit about you  :)
When my sons were younger they also loved Bob the builder and Dizzy the concrete mixer.  I guess you have your own Dizzy now with your TMX  ;D
We also have chooks and ducks (+ a few other animals) and I know how nice it is to have your own eggs.  Duck eggs are scrumptious in a cup, with fresh bread topped with butter and a bit of salt...
I love experimenting with cooking but love going back to simple things from time to time.  That's when the orchard and veggie patch comes into play  :)
Anyway, welcome Dizzy!

I'm also a fan of duck eggs, although I seldom get any.  My egg man has numerous varieties of chickens (chooks) that lay eggs of various colors as well as guinea hens that patrol his garden as extremely efficient pest destroyers, but he only has a few ducks and geese and they usually keep all those eggs.

When I do get them I like to scramble one with my scrambling technique which I think makes all eggs taste "eggier" and duck eggs even more so.
I blogged about it a while back and while I didn't get any comments about it, I got personal emails from friends who tried it and said they had no idea that it would work so well.
One said his wife, who hates eggs, tasted his and had him make some for her.
With the heavy cream this is not exactly a low calorie, low fat or low cholesterol dish, but in my opinion a little indulgence once in a while just makes life better.

This is a great read for a new member,  A lovely way to meet you all.
My Forum name is Rosalie shortened, and the first letter of my partner's last name.  Used for anonimity and now what I am more commonly known as.  LOL
My avatar pic is a pic I use for most forums, Facebook, Google+ etc to try to create greater awareness of Asperger's Syndrome.

We are currently in the process of removing one wall from our kitchen to open it into a newly added room so it is not very pretty.
Here's hoping the pics work

The tiny kitchen, taken from the new room addition.

Looking from the kitchen into the new room.

Once this is finished we will remove the back wall from the kitchen,  (The righ side in the photo to open it into what is currently the laundry and that will have just a long bench with large drawers under and ceiling height shelves above.

Still a lot to do..

Looks great RosieB. Bet you can't wait for it to be finished. The view looks spectacular and most be lovely to sit out on the deck and take it all in. I used to care for a boy with Asperger's Syndrome and a current friend has a son with Asperger's as well. It's not something that is widely known about so any attempts at increasing awareness is a good thing. Hoping your reno's are finished soon.

Rosie that looks lovely. I remember teaching a boy with Aspergers. The poor dear had muscular dystrophy as well. I have many lovely memories of him.

Rosie while living  through renos is a pain the end result is certainly worth the inconvenience - you must be so looking forward to the end.  Thank you sharing with us  :)  :)

TY everyone. And yes.  The reno's are taking way too long.  I can't wait for the next wall to go and open into the laundrey.  It will have a 3 metre bench for all my gadgets.  All big deep drawers under the bench and ceiling high shelves above.
It is a fantastic view I now have from the kitchen.  Before there was a deck outside the kitchen window (Where we have added the room you can see) but it had a very low roof and the view was almost completely obscured.  Now I look across through the room and have a huge framed view of our block and across the valley.  And we added a deck at either end of the room.  One has a sunken swim spa and the other end is open.  It will be fantastic when it is finished.

Hang in there, Rosie, renovations are painful, but so worth it in the end!  What a lovely view you have, so good that you will be able to enjoy it more now.  Thanks for sharing.  Good to get to know you!
