Hi from Rockhampton (Qld)

Hi all
I'm Stephanie from Rocky. I bought a Thermomix last weekend and I'm waiting impatiently for it to arrive! I've found lots of recipes on the forum already that I can't wait to try out. I have a DH and 3 children = DS (sometimes not so D) aged 17, DS aged 5 and a long awaited DD aged 3 months. My 5 yo (Hamish) has coeliac disease - he was diagnosed in 2008. I see that there are some other coeliac mums and lots of gluten free recipes to try so I'm really glad I found the forum.
I've always loved cooking and using the best ingredients I can find (not always easy in Rocky) and recently I've been worried about the additives that seem to be in everything - even "fresh" food. The cost of many pre-made gluten free foods is ridiculous so the TMX should help out on both counts.
If I've finished breastfeeding before the end of summer I intend to perfect a mohito sorbet recipe and will share it when I do
Cheers

Hi Stephanie, welcome to the forum. You are not alone up there in Rockhampton, our dearly loved member Johnro comes from there as well. You will see her photo as you browse the forum so look out for her in a supermarket near you
Have you come across
this blog
yet - lots of GF recipes on there. You are right, GF products are so expensive so your machine will pay for itself in no time. Hope you don't have to wait too much longer.

Thanks Judy
I did see Brazen's blog last night and ended up staying up until midnight reading it and some of her links. I marked it in my faves. I have seen Robyn's posts on the board - I wonder if we will meet - Rocky is not all that big.

Hi and welcome Stephanie. Hopefully the TMX will be a huge benefit to you. I understand you DS 17 not being so D sometimes. I have one the same age!! Lucky you being so close to our much love Johnro.

Thanks so much ladies for the warm welcome
I got my TMX today. YAY! My lovely demonstrator helped me make butter and I made butter chicken and creme patissiere tonight (hmmm bit a of a dairy theme there...) I swapped some things in the butter chicken (almond meal instead of cashews and fresh tumeric instead of powder) and it worked great so I was pleased about that - I always like to use what I have on hand. My "can't we just just have steak for dinner" hubby said it rocked.
I can't wait to play again tomorrow!

Hi Judy
This photo was taken in June this year. DD (Amelia Dawn) is now 3 months old. It was the most recent photo I had where I look half human!
Now must drag self off forum and go to bed......

Hi Stephanie! I'm a newbie too! Hope you have lots of fun!
Oh and I'm just 'up the road' in Mackay. Lived in Yeppoon for a while with DH before he was my DH :-)

Congratulations on the birth Stephanie - your new baby girl will benefit highly from her Mum having a TMX.
