Time differences
« on: March 11, 2009, 11:26:01 am »
I know this has nothing to do with cooking but can anyone tell me why our postings have the weirdest times on them - I know we are forum junkies but do we really post comments in the wee hours of the morning - I think not.  I'd love to know why these times are not correct.

Think it must be to do with our time difference and yours. My times seem to be correct, so could be if I write something at 3pm, and you answer me, your time gets stuck on mine! Maybe???

I've been into my profile and can't get the time to change.  Any clues as to how I will do this?

Judy, I just did it.
on the left side of the screen there is a box labelled"Profile Info" with various headings under it.
I think the time change is under 'account related settings'. :)

Got to admit that some of my weird times are genuine  (blush)
As my picture shows, I've suddenly become younger :-)  DD was of the opinion that her picture should be here, not mine!

I've had many attempts to get my time right and have got it down to at least am or pm correct.  I'm about 1-1/2 hours out but am having trouble getting it to go back by that amount of time.  I have tried, believe me!!!  Much better than it was though. Thanks for your help guys.

Keep trying - go to Proflie

Look and Layout Preferences

Then there is Time Offset: Number of hours to +/- to make displayed time equal to your local time.

Then on the right there is    (auto detect).  Click on auto detect and it should work

If you place 9.5 in the box it should bring up the time in Adelaide.

Unfortunately, like CarolineW, many of the weird times attributed to me are probably correct.  ;) ;) ;D ;D ;D

I've managed to get the time to within 1/2 hour of what it should be (I'm 1/2 hour later than what it shows) so guess I could say it is Eastern Standard Time and leave it at that.

Sadly for SA & NT there are not many places in the world with 1/2 hr difference in time zones - at least it won't look like you've been up all night posting !!  ;) ;)
