Thanks Maddy. I'll let her know.

I'm off to Brisbane next weekend and am considering finding an Aldi store and buying their coffee machine. If I do, should I take it as hand luggage on the plane or check it in? I was hoping to just take hand luggage as I'm only going for the weekend, but now I'm not sure what to do. Can anyone help?

If it fits in the overhead rack and weighs less than whatever is the limit for the airline for carry on luggage then there is no problem.

You will be lucky to find one. I would do my research first and locate a store that actually has one in stock then beg to put your  name on it.

Be prepared to de -construct everything to accommodate the machine even if you have to separate the parts to put in your hand luggage.

Thanks Gert,
I've been to Aldi's website, and they say that they will not provide phone numbers for their stores or the availability of any stock at specific locations. I might try the white pages and see how far I get. I've never been to Brisbane, so I don't want to spend the whole time visiting Aldi stores in the off chance I can buy a cheap coffee machine. There are heaps of other things to see and do instead.

That is right . I really doubt that you will  find it now as Aldi are all different and often it is  once only when they get a container load in. I had a friend who got a wonderful telescope.  Best bargain ever for a great German made product only to fine it was a never again thing. He was lucky.

With Aldi  you really have to be there on the day. Wish we had one in Cairns. Every year I write to them pleading. Cairns is crap for shopping.

Yup and they are nice.  I normally run water through them twice to make a bigger cup and they are still strong enough.

We sure would!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.
