I just adapted the pull apart bread recipe, which is the main one I use for baking loaves and added 100g of honey, 2 tbs of mixed spice and 2 tbs of cinnamon and 2 handfuls of sultanas (but you could use the peel and whatever other fruit stuff they put in buns, I don't actually like the fruit part, I pick it out LOL). I made half the dough into a loaf and the other half into buns. Just rolled handfuls and put them in a baking tray to rise and then bake. The kids loved them. I didn't put the cross on them coz its too fiddly.
I was actually thinking of trying the varoma bread and making it into buns, but I thought the steam might make it too wet... although, it doesn't make the dumplings soggy, so maybe it might work?
