Its a sad old household here tonight....my other half being an avid Saints supporter and still waiting to see them win that elusive Grand Final, as he was only 6mths old the last time they won!!

My mother is a Saints supporter.  I have seen Geelong lose 6 or 7 Grand Finals - so I know what it is like for St Kilda supporters.

We were at a wedding (which didn't bother me as I am not a football person  ;) ;)) but DH spent the whole time with his phone on silent getting text updates from our neighbour   :-)) :-)) ;)

Now there's a few more non-AFL-ers appearing, I feel better   ;D ;D.  I have only one regret about the footy finishing - now cricket starts!!! blahhhh  ;) (DH is English, so our house is more soccer/football oriented).  We actually got married 13 years ago on the grand final day!! (not that we realised of course!) and some of the rellies were very unimpressed ;D ;D  A bit "unaussie" of us I know!!  Am hoping my DS will stick to soccer or tennis or golf!! ;D ;D.

I love cricket too Kathryn. I always say that I wouldn't have survived my youngest DS's sleep disorder if the IPL wasn't on TV to keep me company in the middle of the night. That year I amazed my DH's friends by knowing almost every score of every match. :)

You're in good company Ali. Both of them will put me to sleep if I watch them  :-)) :-)) Years ago at work 3 of us were stuffed into a small office, and my desk was inbetween 2 other desks. The guys I worked with 1 was a very passionate Essendon supporter and the 2nd guy was equally passionate about St Kilda. It never stopped  >:( .As soon as the Grand Final was over they were on about selections, then pre-season stuff then before I knew it was the next season again. So soon learnt to switch off. Saying that I did beat them 3 years in a row in the footy tipping  ;D

lol - I'd imagine nothing annoys a footy fan more than a non-footy follower winning the tipping!! ;D ;D ;D.  My work mates weren't too bad this year as there were no WA teams in it of course!

Saw a wedding on my way home from work to watch the Grand Final - I thought that it was abad choice of day !  Also had a colleague get married GF day many years ago - he was from Sth Aust - before the AFL days and so probably had no trouble getting a discount on the venue  ;)
