Varoma cooking breakfast baskets - help!
« on: December 11, 2011, 01:46:20 am »
Hi guys, as the teacher in South Park says "there are no stupid questions, only stupid people" :D, so here goes. I was cooking Breakfast Baskets from In the mix. Dani steams the spinach and then says to empty the water out. You then prepare the dish in a ramekin and then cook it in the varoma, but there is no mention of putting  water back into the bowl, only the speed and time to cook the baskets.

Can you cook in the Varoma without water in the bowl, or is this a typo?

Obviously I have no idea!

No! You must have water in the bowl to steam and use the varoma...I am not near my copy of the book but will look at it when I get home. You need a minimum of 500ml to steam. How long does it stay to steam it for?

Thanks guys, it says 15 minutes/Varoma/speed 2. I've read and re-read the recipe and can't find any reference to re-adding water.

I ended up adding 500ml and steaming them, they turned out well, but I think finishing them off under a grill for a little crispiness would make them perfect!
