Must be the week for it. Yesterday I dropped a whole jar of crushed ginger on the floor. We have tiles so it smashed and went everywhere.
I also cracked a wine glass as I put it in the dishwasher.
I stayed out of the kitchen today and played in the Skinflint workshop. I made lots of gorgeous smelling soy candles and 4 kg of Body Butter.

oh NOLA, it must be the silly season.
I reached up to grab my TC recipe book from the shelf and knocked down a jar of Khorasan flour.
I managed to catch the jar between the cupboard and my arm before it hit the floor.
But the jar was upside down, and being a recycled Moccona Coffee jar of course the lid came off. (I can never get the lids off when I want to
So I was standing there with recipe book in one hand and flour glugging out of the jar all over me and the kitchen floor yelling HELP.
DH arrived looking a bit frazzled, Usually calls for help mean something bad around this place.
Seeing me covered in flour bought forth laughs and eventually help..

OMG I can just picture it. Imagine all this being brought on by a recipe book that isn't

LOL. That is about right. I keep picking it up and hoping that a good fairy will have flown by and posted some actual recipes into the folder.
So far no luck there.
Thank heavens for this forum. It is a real godsend.

Oh dear,
I have these kind of days way toooooo regularly for my liking.
Sometimes I think my boys actually set me up, naughty monkey boys.
Things move all the time, i go to grab simething in a tupperware container & as if by magic its been turned into some type of glass object, those naughty naughty little gremlins.
The frdige is my bug bear, all glass has to be at the back, but no these rules do not apply to my monkeys, vegemite always at the front just waiting to fall out.... I am sure they do it to annoy me....no typical males DONT THINK
Tomorow is a fresh start

We keep cat litter at work to absorb nasty spills, probably would work well at home in case of floods of oil and port!

Ohhhh that sounds awful to clean up Nola ! Hally I also have a no glass jars at the front policy for the fridge and the pantry !!! Prevents many a mishap with 3 mischievous boys !!
I think this is definately the week for it ! My 3
monsters
boys snuck downstairs this morning without us knowing (we were still asleep) and made themselves milo. hmmmmm sounds simple enough, right ? wrong !!! Milo all over the kitchen and they even got the chocolate sprinkly thing we use for capuccinos and put that on top and somehow also filled that with milk. How many spoons of milo can you fit in a small cup ?? mmmm about 10 by the looks of it !!!!
Master 7 and master almost 5 both blamed master just 3yo. ONLY PROBLEM WAS THEIR FACES WERE COVERED IN CHOCOLATE !!!!

The cat litter is an excellent tip if you can have it in the house. Unfortunately I seem to be allergic to one of the components in most cat litters but I do keep a bag in the garage to clean up grease and oil from the yard and garden equipment. I let the yard help use it as even a mask doesn't seem to work for me.
Having been a baker for most of my life, I know all about spilling flour. I have one of the industrial-sized dustpans for the kitchen and use a short, stiff broom to sweep it up. I NEVER use a vacuum!
Many years ago, when I lived down below, a neighbor spilled a 5-pound bag of flour and tried to vacuum it up. Flour in quantity that becomes airborne in a confined space can spark and explode - often happens in big grain elevators but can also happen inside a vacuum.
She said the vacuum made an ooomph sound, started burning and as she was dragging it outside, she was burned on her legs and arms. Fortunately nothing else caught fire.
A little flour is not a problem my Roomba has no problem picking up small amounts, it is only when it is in a good-sized clump.

Andie, thanks for that tip.
Sorry to hear about the misfortunes girls. But after a fairly difficult morning here, your stories have done much to lighten my mood. So thanks for sharing your dramas!

Oh girls I fully understand your fridge dilemnas. I have a rule where glass jars only go on the door. It is a good rule and works well.
My most annoying thing is that DS7 always leaves drinks near the edge of the table. I have knocked a few over and no matter how many times I tell him, he doesn't seem to take note. He always gets a drink and leaves the juice container out too. SO frustrating.
The worst 2 things I can remember was when he was young he crushed a whole packet of weetbix on the carpet and also emptied a whole container of undilluted cordial on the kitchen floor. I was mopping for weeks and it always felt sticky. Lucky the new kitchen was coming soon and the new floor too
