Hi from Canberra
« on: March 28, 2009, 03:09:57 am »
Hi, I'm Rowena and live in Canberra. No Thermomix, but a demo coming my way next Thursday. :D

I have been eagerly making my way through the site soaking up all the info.

I also know Karen (Brazen) from about a million years ago (OK, maybe 5)

I look forward to getting to know you, and to picking up more tips!

It's Spanish, one I found on 4shared from a link here... 4.800 Recetas Thermomix :D

I figure in 4800 recipes there has to be something I want to try :)

Hope you are using Google translator or similar - takes some time - but the good thing is most recipes have Time Temp and Speed (or vel) and that makes it easy.  ;D ;D  Sort of !!

I used a site through MS Word and the 600 page document was translated in about 4 minutes :D It doesn't make a lot of sense in parts but I can get the gist of it thank goodness.

I am sure that a lot of what I will want to try will be in the standard cookbook anyway. My first mission is hummus, which we are doing at the demo anyway. I butchered it in my $10 Woolies special mini food processor :P Still tastes good if you can completely ignore the texture  :-X

Karen, if not Rebecca then I have no idea. I can't see who your FB friends are with your privacy controls. Canberra is so small, I frequently smile when I see who is friends with who.

I know how you feel - I started out by trying to translate from Spanish and Italian sites because there was nothing much in English (except for Karen, of course!!!)

I have a book in Spanish that I would love to translate - but it really takes time to sort out some of the bits that aren't translated properly with the automatic gizmos.  Sometimes the translations are so funny - keep you amused.

Please feel free to post your "translations" here and ask the likes of Amanda (bron) - they "habla" every day.  ;D ;D ;D

Ah yes, I have 2 profiles... but I truly do mean to get rid of one! Just have to clear out the goodies from some applications. I am glad you figured out who the friends were. Now we can sleep at night.  :D

I do digital scrapping now, much better especially on the mess front.

The translations are certainly mind boggling.
