Mangoes,mangoes galore!!!!

Hi everyone,
I am looking for some yummy mango recipes...mango sorbet, mango ice cream, mango jam etc. We can buy a tray of delicious ripe mangoes for $10 and I want to make use of them.  ;)

Try going to desserts and other sections and do a search for mango. There are heaps of things there.

Still paying almost $3 a mango here. And my parents own a mango farm - just too far away to get any.

Drooling at the thought of mangoes for that price!!!!
Being a QLD girl, mangoes are such a lovely childhood memory for me but at $5 per mango here not to mention adding huge amounts to my carbonl footprint, not too many memories being relived!    :'(

We live on the Gold Coast and have lots of mangoes for really cheap everywhere atm.

I remember 29 years ago while pregnant with  DD # 1  i really really wanted a mango, poor DH drove around and around until he found one. The price for 1 only was $ 3.98    :o

the best price so far that i have seen is 3 for $5

in a few weeks times at the market they will be $ 5 a tray

LOL Uni,  when I was pregnant with my eldest in July I had major mango cravings.  We lived in FNQ but it took a friend in Karumba in the gulf to send me a whole case load via bus as there were none on the local trees at that point.  Thankfully they didn't cost me anything!  :D

Sorry, I wasn't very clear with my chat on mangoes.   I 'was' a QLD girl growing up but am on the other side of the ditch now......
oh well, my consolation is that I got some beautiful big punnets of berries today!   yum!!

I have seen some Equador mangoes here but that is just so wrong on so many levels for me!
I caved one year and bought one and it was foul!  aggghhhh!!  Give me a NQ mango!

They got down to 6 for $1 at the Mexican market last summer and I made mango bread with them.  It was the best quick bread I had ever made.  When they are back in season, I'll be making more.
